Dear all,

Please suggest to me if a person is being transferred from one company to another within the same group without completing a 6-month period, is he entitled to withdraw the full 24% of PF amount? What happens when he wants to transfer his PF amount to the new company's PF account?

If the EMPLOYER PF CODE of the company is the same for both units, then he/she can't withdraw the PF Amount. In case the PF Code is separate, if withdrawing the PF amount before completing the 6-month time period, his/her pension fund will not be refunded.

As per my knowledge, one cannot withdraw the PF during the employment period. This is the prerequisite to withdraw the PF - not working anywhere for a continuous 6 months. But yes, you can take a loan on your PF on certain occasions mentioned.

Hi,

You cannot withdraw PF if you've worked less than 2 months in a company. If you withdraw PF in less than 6 months, then you don't get the pension amount. If you withdraw PF in less than 5 years, then tax is deducted. PF transfers can be done irrespective of the number of days/months/years you've worked in a company.

Dear Pravesh,

An employee can withdraw the PF amount, but he can't get the Pension amount. It is possible for him to fill up the PF transfer form for transferring his amount. What Rajeev says is totally right.

Dear Vikas,

For withdrawal of PF, there is no such criterion that you can't withdraw PF if you have worked for less than 2 months. You can withdraw the PF amount even with one day of deduction. Withdrawal of PF amount is totally exempted from tax deduction.
