Hello All,
I have 6 yrs experience in HRD at Kolkata.I am willing to pursue PhD .I searched for similar topics as to which institues provide PhD but am thoroughly confused.I believe NET qualification will not be needed if I want to pursue it through open university.I thought of doing it from IGNOU and went to IGNOU's office also but did not get any adequate reply.
Please advise

Dear All, I came across an article where it is mentioned UGC has barred open universities including IGNOU from conduction research programmes. Then how to do PhD and work at the same time?

Dear friends,
Its very good that u want 2 get enrolled in phd, i am a research scholar doing phd from central university, u need 2 give entrance exam of phd of university, now entrance exams are compulsory for all students, if u pass the exam u r eligible for research n university will allot guide to u. and if u get enrolled then show NOC and u can continue ur job and side way continue phd, else u have one more option of doing phd from deemed universities or autonomous universities, they will take approx. 1.5 lac and provide u with the degree of phd.
If need more assistance then ask freely.

Dear Meenu,
you have mentioned that deemed or autonomous universities will take 1.5 lacs and give the degree of Phd.will that be like buying a degree. what if one wants to do PhD to gain in depth knowledge

Dear Aparajita,
Its not like buying a degree its just if u r working u can do ur research from home also by coordinating with ur guide, because if someone is in job life he or she will not be able to attend the daily basis classes for research or survey work involved in phd.he can use this mode of phd, its costly but u get gud amount of favours from the university, everything will be pre informed, so u can smoothly get the degree as well as pursue ur present job.
Regards,
Meenu

Dear Meenu, Is it equivalent to the degree which one will receive after undergoing a full time phd programme with fellowship? ?

Kolkata University conducts Ph.D. Business Management. HR must also be the part of that program. You may refer to the University's page at the following link:

I was myself a student of University of Calcutta during my MSc. All the mainstream courses conducted by CU are regular course. But I will not be able to enroll in a regular course as I am working
