anybody authorised by the board of directors are authorised to sign. They may also sub delegate their powers to their subordinates.Aclear order in this regard will suffice.

dear MK,
in a limited company,board of directors are not having time to sign to every appointment letter.HR manager is liable to sign to appointment letter or sometime CEO of the company can also sign to appointment letter............but HR has to issuse many letters time to time like offer letter,increment letter,appreciation letter,confirmation letter etc.and everytime same person's sign should be there....so Its good to sign by HR head or HR Manager.

Hi, It is advisable to take sign of Factory Manager on Appt. letter. Also keep in mind that appointing authority has to take decesion/sign during termination of the employment. Mahesh Patel

Its the board of directors who decide about authorized signatory of appointment letter.authorized signatory can be VP or it can be HR manager as directed by management.I am the authgorized signatory in my company for appointment letter but offer letter can be issued by HR officer as the company is not too big but in big companies these roles are performed by managers as directors don't have time for these.
