Dear All,

I need a scientific and logical answer to my question. Scientifically, what do you think is better: to give your employees an increment or a 13th-month salary with no increment, noting that it's the same ratio for both? Appreciate your feedback in advance.

I never heard of the 13th salary either. If you do not receive an increment, then your salary will remain the same forever. Secondly, what will you do with the bonus? Count it as the 14th salary or something else?

I think you have something in your mind regarding this 13th salary concept, but either you are unable to clearly articulate your question, or maybe we are not understanding it.

In a few Latin American countries (Brazil), the 13th-month salary is mandatory and is paid as a bonus.

In the Indian context, to minimize costs, the 13th-month salary is a good option, provided it is paid in one single installment at the end of the fiscal year. However, it can result in dissatisfaction, and key people might leave, resulting in retention issues.
