Hi guys!
This is Trupti. I am pursuing an MBA in HR. I have a project, but they haven't given me any topic yet. However, I have to submit it in mid-August. I want to choose a topic based on today's scenario. Do you have any HR-related topics that can help with my project? If you have any suggestions, please email me at trupti.kh@gmail.com.
Thank you!

Hello Trupti,
Who should give you a topic? When did you know you had to submit a project by mid-August? I am sure you would have known about the requirement a few months before, if not when you enrolled in the course.
What topic interests you? Have you got access to an organization where you can conduct primary research? If so, you need to discuss with them what problems they face that you could conduct research on and try to provide ideas for resolving them.
In the absence of any ideas, instead of seeking ideas here, why don't you search CiteHr and the web to see if any ideas have already been posted. Please also see the message posted by me today at https://www.citehr.com/176305-managi...llocation.html

Hey guys!
Actually, they haven't specified any topic; I have to choose my own. But then the problem is, I thought, being a correspondent, I don't have to do it as they never intimated me. I got to know from other sources about it. Well, I am tense as I don't know how to do and what present scenario I should work on in a project. I don't want to go for what all do, but I am looking for the present scenario in HR. I want to make a project on it as I would have to give a presentation as well. No PowerPoint presentations.

Dear Chandrashekhar,
Please do not request finished projects or questionnaires on this forum without giving enough information. Instead of asking for a completed project, please search CiteHr where some projects are attached. Then do a literature survey and formulate your aim and objectives for the research (in consultation with the host organization). You also need a conceptual framework for that. Decide what hypotheses you want to test.
If you have not done any of the above essential preparation for conducting a project, I would advise you to please do so and then pose a precise question.
Please see my post on Research Methodology (Ppt slides attached) at https://www.citehr.com/106849-research-projects.html and Author Workshops at https://www.citehr.com/105093-publishing-international-journals.html (link updated to site home) (Search On Cite | Search On Google) and my post at [link no longer exists - removed].
I am not sure if you have read any literature on questionnaire design. If not, go to http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=questionnaire+design+%2B++guideline s&btnG=Search&meta. Also see http://citehr.com (link updated to site home) where an MBA project is attached as an example.
A Post by Prodcons also has information on Research Methodology.
Also view and digest the message that ahujamamamia posted at CiteHr https://www.citehr.com/169377-marble-story.html. Try to become the marble statue rather than the tile.

Hi,
I am surprised that folks are asking for fully prepared projects in this forum! I thought this was a place where one can get guidance and support, not to be spoon-fed. It's really sad to see this happening here. Apologies to the moderators if I have been too harsh, but I have felt the need for such comments since a good number of students come here just to obtain ready-made projects.

Hi Trupti,
Just try the following link to download the project report on HR: [Human Resources Projects, Dissertation, HR Thesis, HRM Case Study, Working Papers, Examples, Resources and Research Work](http://www.projectsparadise.com/category/management/human-resources/).

Dear Trupti,
Greetings.
If the faculty has given you a choice to select a project on HR of your own, it is all the more better and interesting. I suggest, as a senior student of HR profession, to pick up any topic which is of interest to you. Start working on it, and the project is commenced. Please feel free to seek clarification at all times.
Best wishes,

Hi Trupti,
Hope you are doing well. Firstly, choose a topic like absenteeism, recruitment, or welfare. Then, see how best you can collect data on that topic and understand it with confidence.
Good Luck.

My suggestion is to consider doing a project concerning people who have lost jobs in the recent turmoil. The project could focus on what is needed to help them secure an alternative job in the shortest possible time. Let me know if you encounter any challenges.

Hi,
Well, you can go ahead with this one: "How recession affects fringe benefits, social security, and welfare measures of an organization." It's a very vast and deep topic. You can emphasize the influence of recession on organizational behavior. Go ahead, and best of luck.

Hey Trupti,
It's Pratyush here. Judging by your requirements, i.e., project on current scenarios, you can take up a project on "HR Policies During Recession Times." This topic would portray the current market scenario and distinguish your project from other traditional projects on recruitment, selection, training, development, and performance appraisal.
Just a suggestion because I'm not an HR person anyway; I'm more into marketing and stuff. Do let me know if you need any other help.

Dear Trupti,
Having gone through your requirement and the help extended by members, I felt something important was missing, which was supposed to be highlighted (though I did not go through all responses).
1. What is the purpose of doing a project?
2. Are you not lucky enough (not been given a topic) to have infinite topics or the topics you like most, can have priorities even and at last can do some good project unattended (not been touched by any enumerator or at least challenging), thereby working exclusively on a project and presenting concrete analysis which in turn benefits society, yourself, your college, the organization where you will be doing the project, fellow students, and following batches or students, and particularly under the limitations of the project, you can highlight the areas not attended by your project, and hence someone else can work on that particular area.
3. Doing a project at this hour is like final preparation for an exam in the last hours; concern lies only in qualifying the exam.
4. You can choose a topic as suggested by respondents.
5. As a project guide (from the organization side), out of approximately 35 students, only 3 have done a genuine project.
6. Sorry for being harsh, but I was straightforward.

Hi Trupti,
Choose any one of the current topics:
1) Recession and Retrenchment - How will you play a good Samaritan role both to the management and the employee?
2) Conflict management - If you were the HR head, how will you handle the following situations:
a) Recruitment Vs Requirement (When the project team is blaming the HR team for not meeting their requirements?)
b) Good performer Vs bad boss
c) Poor Performer Vs Soft boss
3) As an HR head, how do you propose to restructure the organizational culture?
1) Narrate current issues
2) Suggest a revised plan.

Hello Everyone!
I would like to thank all of you who are trying to help me with the topic to be very clear. I am not asking for any ready-made project. The project which you'll make, if you give it to me, I can try to understand how to present the project and what information can be useful. Hence, I asked if you have it, kindly let me know. But I would request that things should not be taken in a wrong way. I would not like to take credit for someone else's work presented in my name. If I needed to do this, why did I ask for the current topic? The reason I need your suggestions and guidelines is that it would help me better. But if it's taken in a wrong way, I will now unjoin the link. Thanks again for your help, guys.

Hi Naseer! Well, you are right, but I have made a project. I am somehow not satisfied with it. So, if I can alter it, I would do that. Mostly, the date is going to get extended for the project; I got to know right now. So, don't make it a wrong notion that I am not doing anything and just waiting for someone to give me the project. Well, that's not me. I would take the project to understand what all I can add in my project and what all I need to work on, just to know the loopholes. I am not going to give the project which I am not satisfied with; hence, I would work more on it. Take care. Goodbye.

Hi Naseer,
I read your post. I would not agree completely with your opinion about project guidelines and title not being provided because most of the people pursuing MBA nowadays are just freshers out of SM graduation college. They definitely require some assistance with the title and scope of projects either from their college or the company where they are executing their projects. In a drive to make them independent, by not providing them with proper guidelines, they would be on their own wasting most of their time in searching topics, making incomplete projects, and then again switching to some other topic when they get stuck with the topic. This would lead to time wastage and inferior projects. Thus, in my opinion, MBA students should be provided proper guidance, guidelines, and topics for projects.
About the late work, I'd better not say anything because I also made my project in 10 days at the end of the training. In my opinion, the ideal thing to do is, after you are through with the training and analysis of the company, or else if you start making your project in the start, you may not entirely spend your time on acquiring the intricacies of business, which is the core purpose of an industrial training.
Your third point about the genuineness of projects - well, I did my summer training at LG Electronics, Mumbai, and now I am a key assessor of projects, especially marketing at my company. I have a much brighter picture to present wherein all the summer trainees I took this year are genuinely contributing towards the project, and I don't think any of them would be impersonating someone else's project. It's all up to us seniors to guide these young MBA people towards their success.

Hi Pratyush,
Thank you very much for understanding and trying to make people aware of their misconceptions. We are not asking for a ready-made project, but for proper guidance. Requesting a sample project created by you and sending it to us is to help us compare it with our own project. This way, we can ensure the correctness of our work or identify any areas that need improvement. Thank you once again for your help in understanding.
I hope to receive more valuable guidance from a senior professional like you, who can steer us juniors in the right direction. Thanks a lot.

Hi Trupti,
Don't be tensed about anything. You can work on your projects ahead of time. Give your best effort to it. Why don't you consider doing a project about "Recession"? Provide a brief idea about how it is affecting us, our present lives, and how HR can assist both employees and employers during this time. How should an organization improve without resorting to ineffective strategies during a recession?
Create a detailed description on this topic, and best of luck with your project. I will also search for information from other sources and email it to you. If you need further assistance, please contact me at cse_nithiya@yahoo.co.in.

Are you in HR because it's your passion? If yes, what do you wish to pursue as your own career? Of course, getting a good job, handsome pay, and raising a nice family are the basics that everyone wants. Could you share what HR means to you and how you envision it in the future? Have you considered exploring new horizons like EQ and SQ in HR?

Hi Friends. I am Vincent, working as a coordinator. At present, I am coordinating three projects. Can anyone guide me on how to prepare a consolidated monthly reporting format for all these three projects? The projects are Community Health, Women Empowerment, and Inclusive Development of Persons with Disabilities.
