I have completed my 1-year diploma in HR from Welingkars. Should I pursue my PGDBA-DLP from Welingkars or opt for a part-time MBA from ICFAI? Would a PGDBA from Welingkars hold more value than an MBA from ICFAI? Which option has better prospects?

I am feeling very confused and need urgent help, as the deadlines are approaching at the end of March. Please HELP!!!!

Hi,

Thank you,

Hi Priya,

I would recommend pursuing your PGDBA from Welingkars as it would complement your 1-year diploma and is a better choice compared to a part-time MBA. What matters more than just the school name is the academic performance, so in this situation, opting for Welingkars would be beneficial. Take a deep breath and relax!

Dear Nikhil,

Whether distance learning or any institute you name cannot make any difference to your capabilities until you make things happen. No institute guarantees success because success depends on your performance. Most of B-Schools and premier institute students disappear from the market. Only 2% to 3% make their mark in the profession; otherwise, they end up with professor or lecturer kind of jobs. The marketplace is a place where the survival of the fittest is the principle.

Dear Rashid,

I completely agree, distance learning or any institute for that matter does not make a huge difference. It depends upon the person's capabilities, skills, and performance. However, an MBA is just like a passport for you to get an entry into a reputed corporate. As you mentioned, only 2 to 3% of institutes make a difference, and Welingkar is included in that 2 to 3%.

Hello,

I'm planning to take up PGDBA-DLP for the October batch of 2010. My question is, should I do this course or pursue an Executive MBA after two years, or perhaps do both? Is it a waste to do both?

Please, I need your reply.

It is equally important to ensure that any university or institute from where you are pursuing your MBA is recognized by AICTE. There are many bogus institutes and universities that are deceiving people by distributing MBA degrees like ladoos.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
