I'm Manohar. I have a BE in Computer Engineering from Mumbai, graduated in 2005, and have over 4 years of experience. I am interested in transitioning to the management field. I am considering pursuing a PGDIT from Symbiosis. Alternatively, are there other paths I should explore? Your advice is appreciated.

Accepted Solution:
People usually say there is no big difference between an MBA and a PGDBA (or PGDBM). It is a marketing tactic to sell the available seats in their institutions. However, there is a significant gap between the two, and one will realize this upon leaving college with their valuable and costly certificate. No one in the market will agree that a PGDBA (or PGDBM) is equivalent to an MBA. They may try to depreciate or degrade you based on this distinction.
Even if you obtain an MBA from the worst institution in the world, it is still considered more prestigious than a PGDBA (or PGDBM). AICTE should address this issue. People acknowledge that even IIMs offer a PGDBA, not an MBA, yet they remain unconvinced to accept this specific point.
