Hi All,

I need your valuable suggestions and kind help in withdrawing my PF from the last employer. I worked with an MNC in Delhi for 5 and a half years, and now I am settled in Darjeeling, running my own business. Do I need to go to the Delhi PF office for withdrawing the PF? Can this be done through any regional office based in W.B? Or can anyone submit the form in the PF office in Delhi on my behalf?

Do I also need to produce an unemployed certificate? Are there any other relevant pieces of information that I need to know or steps I need to take in order to withdraw my PF? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Gyanu

Dear,

It is not necessary for you to go to Delhi and pursue PF withdrawal. However, it is to be withdrawn from Delhi only. You can initiate the PF withdrawal for No. 19 and 10C, sign on it with revenue stamps, attach your bank details, present address, etc., and forward the same to your known person in Delhi. This person can then get it filled from your last employer and deposit it in the RPFC office.

Thank you.

Hi Mr. Malik,

Thank you for your response and kind suggestion. I have the forms with me, and it asks for the thumb impression in the presence of a signing authority, which has got me confused. I have also heard that one needs to produce an Unemployment certificate. Could you please explain what the NSSN (National Social Security Number) is all about? Kindly enlighten me on these issues as well.

Thanks and Regards, Gyanu:icon1:

Dear Gyanu,

Do not get confused. After completing the withdrawal form, get your signature verified from your bank where you need your money to be transferred with an address proof. The amount may be transferred directly to your bank with an intimation letter to you, or the cheque could be opted.

The best way to contact the Regional PF Office - Jalpaigudi [EPFO](http://www.epfindia.com) or [EPFO](http://epfindia.com) for better clarifications, instead of getting confused.

I am sure you need not go to Delhi, but your form has to go through the previous employer for signature verifications, and there must be a gap of 2 months before applying for withdrawal.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Hi Dear,

There is no need for you to panic about PF withdrawal. As suggested by Mr. Malik, fill out the form, sign it, affix a revenue stamp, and then have it signed by your organization before submitting it there. Generally, in MNCs, there are designated individuals who visit such offices and will submit your form on your behalf. Hopefully, within a month or two, you will receive the money in your savings bank account, which you must specify on your PF withdrawal form.

No thumb impression is required, and no Unemployment certificate is needed as a certain amount will be deducted as tax, and the remaining amount will be given to you tax-free.

NSSN (National Social Security Number) is applicable only in the U.S. where each individual has a social security number for identification, so there is no need to worry.

I have personally withdrawn PF amounts twice from my previous organizations. Don't worry and enjoy your tax-free amount.

Hi,

As per your query, you don't have the need to go to your old office. You just need to take Form No. 9 and Form No. 10C from your local PF Office and send it to your company's address where you worked. Further formalities will be handled by them, and your amount will be directly credited to the A/c details you provided.

Hi,

I also have one doubt on PF withdrawal thing. I stay in Bangalore and was earlier working in Mumbai. I spoke to my earlier organization, and they have asked me to fill Form 19 and 10C and also to affix a revenue stamp on the same. However, I am not finding a revenue stamp anywhere in Bangalore. I guess the government has banned the usage of the same here. Please help me with how to proceed. Can I submit the forms without a revenue stamp to the PF office in Mumbai?

Please assist me with the above; I will be really grateful to you.

Thanks and regards,
Anisha.

Hi Anisha,

There is no need to panic, just follow the procedure. In case the revenue stamp is not available in Bangalore, there are two things that you can do:

1. Either you speak to the concerned person in your previous organization and share your problem.
2. You can contact someone else (friend or a relative) to send a revenue stamp to you, and you can fix it and send the form.

If none of these works, you can send an email to me with your address and how many revenue stamps and of what cost are required. I will courier them to you from Delhi.

Hope this will work.
