Dear All,

My colleague has been working in a manufacturing company in Mumbai since 2001. The company started deducting PF contributions in 2002, but in the E-passbook, it only shows data from 2003 onwards on a yearly basis, i.e., up to 31/03/2003, then 31/03/2004, etc., until 31/03/2009. After that, it's regular.

So, is it possible that the company did not pay any contributions until 2009? Or can we obtain any data from the PF regional office regarding this? If yes, what is the process?

Thank you.

It is essential to ensure that PF contributions are accurately reflected in the E-passbook to track the payments made by the employer. In this case, where the data in the E-passbook starts from 2003 and has gaps until 2009, it raises concerns about the contributions made by the company during those years.

To address this situation and verify the contributions made by the company, you can follow these steps:

1. Contact the PF Regional Office: Reach out to the PF regional office in Mumbai to inquire about the missing data and seek clarification on the contributions made by the company from 2002 to 2009. The regional office should be able to provide details regarding the payments made by the employer.

2. Submit a Request: Prepare a formal request outlining the specific period (2002-2009) for which you need information on PF contributions. Include details such as your colleague's PF account number, employer details, and any other relevant information that can assist the regional office in locating the records.

3. Follow-Up: After submitting the request, follow up with the PF regional office to track the progress of your inquiry. It may take some time for them to retrieve the historical data, so patience is key during this process.

4. Review the Information: Once the PF regional office provides the data, carefully review it to ensure that all contributions made by the company are accurately reflected. If there are discrepancies or missing payments, you may need to further investigate the matter with the company and the regional office.

By proactively reaching out to the PF regional office and requesting the necessary information, you can gain clarity on the contributions made by the company during the specified period and address any discrepancies effectively.
