Hi Pankaj,

Thank you very much for your assistance. It is helpful to me as well. However, my situation is a bit different, so I would appreciate your guidance on this matter.

I am currently working as an HR professional in an IT company located in Pune, which was registered just last month. The company has a total of 20 employees, and our monthly payroll sums up to 170,000. The basic salary range for employees is between 4,500 to 7,500. Additionally, we have 5 trainees to whom we provide a stipend. I would like to know whether we are required to deduct PF (Provident Fund) from the employees' salaries or not. If so, can I use the same form you provided earlier for this purpose?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

The PF registration is subject to the number of employees in the organization. If the company has twenty employees, you are required to register as per the following procedure:

1. Fill Form I along with PF proforma.
2. You have to submit the details of your directors.
3. Copy of memorandum of articles.
4. Company PAN card and Current account number.
5. DD for contribution of 20 members for that particular month.

Submit the above to PF enforcement for code allotment.

Furthermore, if any company has twenty employees irrespective of the nature of employment, i.e., trainee, apprentice, it is required to register and pay contributions only for eligible employees.

Dear Mr. Iqbal,

I have my own manpower for services like housekeeping and office boy. Currently, I have only three employees, and my new client is requesting the PF and ESI numbers. Please advise me on what I need to do as if I do not provide these details, I may lose the contract. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me out.

Dear Pooja,

A minimum of 20 employees is required for PF registration; if there are fewer employees, consider registering for ESI for those with a salary below 10k. To apply for PF, you need to visit the nearest PF office based on your location, collect the application form, fill it out, prepare a cover letter for PF, and once submitted to the PF office, a PF inspector will visit your office. If they are satisfied with all the documents provided, they will issue a PF number to your organization. It's a straightforward process.

If you encounter any issues, feel free to call Anil at 9321897371.

Best regards,

Anil
