Dear all,

I understand that only 10-15% of jobs can be filled through online job portals. Can someone assist me in understanding what is a better networking strategy and how to develop a network to achieve better results?

Thank you

Hi Sivaprasad,

Use strategies like headhunting, references, and create a solid database by regularly interacting with various professionals across different verticals of the industry to understand their profiles. Maintain good relationships with them to better understand their psychology, job change preferences, and enhance their job satisfaction.

Hi,

You need to try more than one mode for hiring. Like employee referrals, being in touch with efficient manpower recruitment consultancy, using online job portals, job fairs (costly though), and campus recruitment. Based on the nature of the opening, you will have to choose the best option. All the best.

Currently, I am using all the techniques like employee referrals, referrals from employees coming for interviews, and job portals, as well as ads in newspapers. Though I must accept that our company requirements are a bit niche, I can't give the same answer to my boss. I just wanted to know if anyone knows a better way of talent acquisition, maybe through some network or so. Please suggest.

Dear all,

I understand that only 10-15% of jobs can be filled up by using online job portals. Can someone assist me in understanding what is a better network and how to develop the network to achieve better closures?

Thank you,

Mr. Siva,

I have been working with monster.com for the past 3 years, and I completely disagree with your statement that only 10-15% of jobs can be filled through job portals. Based on my experience over the last 3 years, 60-80% of jobs have been successfully filled via job portals. If you provide me with the requirements, I will be able to provide you with suitable resumes.

Hi,

I believe that techniques like headhunting and internal referral systems are very useful. Additionally, consider utilizing sites such as LinkedIn and Orkut. Also, ensure that you obtain references from candidates who have already been interviewed.

Hi Friends,

I am familiar with techniques such as job referrals, headhunting, and using job portals like Monster, Naukri, TimesJob, DICE, LinkedIn, and another site, CiteHR for human resource management. Are there any more sites to post jobs and search for candidates? Please let me know, friends.

I would also like to hear about your experiences with headhunting.
Looking forward to a positive reply.

Hi Shiva,

As mentioned by many, we have so many techniques and tools to achieve our recruitment targets. In recent times, keeping the current inflation and, more importantly, attrition in mind, HR executives have come up with the most innovative ideas. Advertising on social portals like Orkut, Facebook are a few of them. Apart from these, we have LinkedIn, Silicon India, Yahoo Groups, which are a few professional portals where job adverts can be placed. However, we have some limitations as no portal is 100% efficient and effective. We can place ads in free classifieds, mass mailing to all these candidates in the same line of activity, internal references or buddy referrals, recruitment firms. One way to attract references could be through ex-employees who have worked with the organization. Maintain and update contact details and keep sending emails to all those about various vacant positions and also send greetings to all of them for New Year and other happy occasions. This will build rapport and keep the momentum going for long.

Hope the above will be of some use to you. I wish you all the best.

Regards,
Suresh
