Hi Vishal,
The common answer to this would be that Temp Staffing has its own set of pros and cons. However, much depends on the company hiring such services. Sure, employees are a part of the third-party vendor. Although HR Admin, Payroll, Help Desk, etc., responsibilities lie with the agency, a few responsibilities have to be taken up by the client as well. Regular monitoring, maintenance of attendance, regular feedback to the third-party vendor, etc., are some of the duties to be taken up by the client. Therefore, if used well, this kind of hiring is very useful considering present market trends.

While hiring temp staff, how do we ensure confidentiality of our company information and avoid misuse of company data?

Hi guys,
It is beneficial because you end up saving the company's money. As far as confidentiality of information is concerned, the nondisclosure clause is legally a part of any contract or appointment letter. So, when you issue a contract to a contractor, they are going to acknowledge receipt and acceptance of that contract. If they do not adhere to the same, then the company has the full right to terminate the contract due to integrity issues.

Who says you save more? Guys, just take a look at it from a larger perspective. When you consider the overall impact, you will find that you actually end up paying more (don't just focus on the cost alone). However, the only benefit I found from this was that the company gets rid of the liabilities and legalities. That's it. Nothing else.

Tamp Staffing helps in reducing costs. Suppose you get a project for which you hire candidates who are specialized in that area. After the completion of the project, you would need to bring in a similar kind of project; otherwise, you would unnecessarily be bearing the cost of the salary paid to these employees. However, if they are on contract with you, after the execution of the project, you can ask them to leave. If you have another similar project coming up, the contract period can be extended. If you wish, you can also take any of them on your payroll as well.

Hello all,
It is true to say that every type of employment has its own pros and cons. Temp staffing has proved itself as a cost-effective method that allows companies to concentrate on their core businesses and reduce the burden of people management considerably. At the same time, it can be disastrous for any company to employ temp staffing without the right mix of full-time and senior-level employees who have the complete knowledge and experience of handling contractors. At times, temping can go out of control, and things can go the wrong way if they do not know what they are doing. I have also seen companies turning towards temping more due to the upselling from staffing companies when there is actually no need for temping.
Temping is most often good for companies who can show considerable savings, but when it comes to the contractors, I feel sorry for them because contracting increases the instability in their lives by multiple times.
