Debate: Cricket vs Other Games - Recognition and Potential for Change - CiteHR

Hi HR Dynamites,

A few days back, Abhinav Bindra achieved what every Indian dreamed of. He not only won the gold medal for India but also inspired many Indians to represent India in other games besides cricket.

Despite the lack of facilities (as compared to cricket), he proved his worth. The question here is: do we, as Indians, believe that only cricket is the big game and cricketers are the only heroes? Or is a new era coming for other games to be recognized?

Members, kindly shed some light on these issues.

Regards,
Rahul S :-)

I hope what you are saying comes out true, but I don't see the possibility of it happening in the coming few years. Abhinav Bindra spent approximately 10 crores Rs. on his training, which not everyone can afford. However, it definitely shows us what can be achieved if we improve the infrastructure and training.
