Dear All,
Nowadays, every organization talks about employee engagement, employee satisfaction, and organizational culture/climate surveys. My query is, what is the difference between the three, and how do they contribute to the retention of talent?
I am waiting for your valuable inputs on the subject.

Kaylan, what is the “handsome gift” you offer for the best suggestion? Did you ask employees beforehand whether this “gift” is of value to them? Also, what are the judging criteria for “best” suggestion? Are these criteria well-communicated to the employees?
Why do you not give monetary benefits? You may be limiting yourself with this restriction. Receving a gift voucher will be seen by some employees as insulting when the suggestion saves the company thousands of dollars.
My last point is about employee engagement. What role does the employee play once the suggestion is submitted? Are they required to develop a business case or develop a working prototype? Or is the submission taken and the company takes over from there? How do you involve the employee througout the entire process?
Consider also the empahsis you place on teamwork. Suggestion schemes encourage an individualistic mentality. In these competitive times, all employees and managers need to work together to leverage individual skills and neutralize individual weaknesses. Not to say anything about the morale building that occurs with team goals and activities and the benefits of brainstorming, etc. Think seriously about the role that your suggestion scheme plays in your overall business improvement and employee engagement strategy.
