Hi,

I am working as an HR professional in a reputed corporate company where this is my first time undergoing an appraisal. I was given a form to define my own objectives and other points that are not defined with ratings. Can anyone help me with actually filling out the form? It's urgent, please help me out.

Hi,

An appraisal is nothing but an evaluation of an individual's performance. It is directly linked to increments and promotions. You have been asked to define your objectives. Be very specific in what you can do, and show your willingness to work in different functions. For example, if you are currently in the Recruitment function, you can always shift to Payroll or Training & Development after some years or even months. You can also highlight your career aspirations.

Hey, appraisal is nothing but a way to figure out that you are able to achieve your desired targets for which you will be rewarded a bonus or incentives based on your performance.

Well, I am preparing an appraisal form and assisting my senior in conducting the appraisal of the employees, so don't worry. It's just listing your responsibilities and the work you have done throughout the year. Your career option doesn't carry any score because the company wants to see at what level you see yourself in 3 to 4 years from now. I hope you must have understood. So, don't worry and relax.
