Hi,
All seniors,
I have a question, please help me out. If an employee takes 15 days of regular leave due to any reason, then I want to know whether the Sundays in between will be considered as part of the leave or not?
Please reply.

Hello friend,
It will depend on the leave policy of the company. Generally, if the weekly off falls between "Casual Leaves" or "Sick Leaves", it is counted. An earned leave or privilege leave is not counted.
Of course, there is an interesting case where a person goes on Casual leave on Saturday and falls sick on Monday; will Sunday be counted? This is one of the interesting "HR puzzles" that no one has been able to solve! :)

It depends on the leave rules of the organization. Generally, closed holidays are not included while availing casual leave. In the case of Privilege leave or earned leave, closed holidays are counted, but the closed holidays before (prefix holidays) and after (suffix holidays) the leave period are not counted as leave days. Please read the leave policy or leave rule of your organization.

HI It’s all depends on the organisation policy. As far as my company is concerned weekly off is not counted. regards kiru
Hi Mukesh & other Friends,
First of all, familiarize yourself with your organization to determine whether the Factories Act or the Shops & Establishment Act is applicable. Subsequently, understand the statutory specifications regarding leave.
In my understanding, under the Factories Act, for annual leave, Privilege leave, or earned leave, closed holidays such as Sundays, weekly offs, or declared holidays for the year are not counted as leave days.
Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Hi,
If he is having earned leave in his/her account, then Sundays will not be counted. Casual leave will be considered for one or two days only, not for long leave. In case of medical leave, after producing the necessary certificates, he/she will be eligible for wages.

As per my company rules & regulations weekly offs will not be considered as leave. It totally depends upon the rules of your organisation.
Hi!
This will depend on the company's leave policy. Generally, Sundays in between leaves are considered as "Sandwich Leave." For example, if a person is on leave on Saturday and consecutive Monday, then Sunday will also be considered as leave. In this case, 3 leaves will be considered although he has taken 2.
