I have joined CPSU from another PSU (State Govt) in a higher grade (General Manager). My appointment in CPSU was through the proper channel. After resigning, I joined and requested the management of the previous organization to transfer my leave to CPSU. Accordingly, 70 EL and 140 HPL were transferred along with the requisite amount to the CPSU, and the present employer has accepted such leaves.
During the probationary period, I availed around 40 days EL with the approval of written authority for attending some unavoidable occasions. As per the HR manual of the present employer (CPSU), the probationary period will be extended for 40 days. I believe this may not be correct as I had a leave balance and used it for a genuine reason like any human being.
Can anybody suggest whether I can contest and put up an application requesting the modification of the existing rule?
Thank you with regards.

Understanding Probation Extension Rules
It all depends on the language of the rule relating to the extension of probation. If the rule states that probation shall be extended to the period of leave (whatever leave it may be) availed by an employee, then probation is liable to be extended to that extent. Please go through the relevant provision of the leave policy for a proper understanding of its meaning with reference to the language that was employed in the provision.
