Dear seniors and friends,

As all organizations have procedures for accepting resignation letters, could you please guide me on whether the resignation letters should be ink-signed or if they are acceptable through emails as well? If ink signing is preferred over emails, could you please explain the reason for this preference?

Thank you all.

Hello,

Resignation by mail can be considered because, as per legal context, any source of communication whose point of origin and end recipient can be traced or clearly understood/visible, then such communication is considered a proper communication.

Verbal communication over the phone cannot be considered because there is no evidence of recording of statements or dialogues exchanged or made between parties to the conversation.

Thank you,

Hi Kartiken,

Resignations through email are definitely considered and preferred at the same level as ink-signed letters. In both cases, a person is trying to communicate the same thing; it's just the medium that is different. The main objective is to convey the message in a proper manner so that it can be understood.

Dear Octavious and Shelly,

Thank you for your noble views. Summed up, both are equally acceptable since in written form, they act as proof of the receiver and the sender. Both are traceable and identifiable, and the proof serves for both parties in written communication rather than relying on no visible evidence (as in verbal communication, either telephonically or in person).

Your comments, please.

Thanks once again CiteHR friends.
