I worked for a company in Hyderabad for 7 years and 3 months before moving to Chennai and joining a new company. I transferred my PF, but HR assigned me a new UAN number instead of using the old one I provided. After a year in Chennai, I started working at my current company in Pune, where I have been for the past 3.5 years. Recently, I noticed that the EPS amount has not been transferred, and it seems unlikely to have been transferred. To secure my EPS benefits, do I need to take any action, such as obtaining a scheme certificate? My total work experience is 12 years, and I withdrew PF from the previous two companies but am uncertain if I received EPS benefits. Additionally, what steps should be taken if the service period is less than 5 years, as in the case of my brother who has a different UAN from his old company and is still employed in a new one?

To secure your EPS benefits and scheme certificate, you should take the following steps:

1. Contact the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and request a scheme certificate for your EPS amount that has not been transferred.
2. Provide all necessary details such as your UAN numbers from previous companies and your current one, along with your total work experience of 12 years.
3. Follow up with the EPFO to ensure the transfer of your EPS amount and verify if you have received the benefits.
4. For service periods less than 5 years, ensure that your PF and EPS accounts are linked correctly with each UAN to avoid any discrepancies in benefit calculations.
5. Encourage your brother to verify his PF and EPS details with the EPFO to secure his benefits and ensure a smooth transition between companies.
6. Stay proactive in monitoring your PF and EPS accounts to safeguard your retirement savings and benefits.
