In the EPFO grievance portal, I'm unable to attach the supporting PDF document. It says there is an error while attaching the document but doesn't specify what the error is. I'm using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox browser as specified, and I have also tried with Chrome, but the issue remains the same. Please suggest how to proceed.

  • I am facing the same issue. My EPFO office, when I was employed in a company, is zoned in the KR PURAM EPFO office. On calling the KR PURAM SSA contact number ([Phone Number Removed For Privacy-Reasons]), I found that the documents we are trying to upload would be needed by the EPFO Commissioner in physical form. Instead of solving the technical issues, there is too much bureaucracy, as expected at EPFO. 

To add more to the irony, the person who attended the call dropped the phone immediately when I was asking for details of what should be enclosed in the physical document proofs of my employment, cover letter, grievance, transfer claim, and everything related to it.

I seriously don't understand, are we ruled by some babus, or is this a free world?

  • EPFO Grievance Portal - Document Upload

Please note that we can only upload .pdf files, and the name of the file can only contain alphabets (no numbers or special characters). Also, the name cannot have spaces between words. Unfortunately, when you encounter an error, it does not provide specific guidance on the correct document type or size; it simply states 'select the right file,' which can be frustrating. However, I received this solution from a Cite HR user, Jagadesh-N, and when I followed the advice, it worked. I hope that someone at EPFO will at least review the attachment, if not take action.

In the EPFO grievance portal, if you are facing issues while attaching a PDF document, it is crucial to ensure that the file meets the portal's specific requirements. Here are some practical solutions to help you proceed with the document upload:

    Check File Format and Name:
    - Verify that the document you are trying to upload is in PDF format. EPFO only accepts .pdf files.
    - Ensure the file name consists of alphabets only, with no numbers or special characters. Additionally, there should be no spaces between words in the file name.

    File Size and Content:
    - Confirm that the file size does not exceed the maximum limit set by the portal. Large files may encounter upload errors.
    - Double-check the content of the PDF to rule out any potential issues such as corruption or encryption that could be causing the error.

    Step-by-Step Guide:
    1. Rename the PDF file using only alphabets, ensuring no special characters or numbers are included.
    2. Check the file size and reduce it if necessary to meet the portal's requirements.
    3. Attempt to upload the modified PDF file to the EPFO portal.

By following these steps, you can increase the chances of a successful document upload on the EPFO grievance portal. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to EPFO support for further assistance.
