An employee left the company 2 years ago. The employee rejoins the company after 2 years, at which time the joining date is not revised by the company in the PF. How can this be changed in the EPF record? Please guide us.

As an employer, you must exit the employee first and then rejoin them. However, if the employee has not been employed elsewhere for the last two years, this process is not required, and the two-year period will be considered a non-contributory period. To avoid potential future complications, it is advisable to first exit the employee on the exact date they were released two years ago and then rejoin them using the same UAN.
