Facing issues in EDLI & PENSION death claim

I am facing issues with the EDLI and pension death claim for my father. There is a mismatch in the date of exit and the date of death, and the electronic challan is also missing for two months. The date of death is 20-02-2019, but the system incorrectly shows it as 31-12-2018 due to cessation of service or another reason.

The company's PF agency made a mistake, and our family is suffering because of it. Officers are continuously reflecting the claim due to this mismatch. I have provided the muster copy of attendance and the death certificate, while the service letter was given by the company.

How to correct the mismatch?

What is the way to correct this issue? We have submitted all the required documents, but they are not providing a proper solution. Kindly help.

Steps to Resolve Data Mismatch Issues

Just ask the company to get the data corrected instead of just giving a letter.

Approaching Authorities for Assistance

Go and meet the commissioner or a senior officer at similar levels to explain your problem. Mostly, they are pro-employee and will help.

In this case, I would like to suggest that it would be more effective to contact the department of the company rather than contacting you. For EPFO, you are just a common man, while the industry is more significant than an individual. Therefore, request a letter of explanation to be written and sent from your father's company, detailing the whole story. This letter should be drafted by the company itself and accompanied by relevant documents on their letterhead.

Updating Records on the EPF Portal

All the records need to be updated on the EPF portal with the joint declaration of the employee and employer, along with all the proof of records as required by EPF authorities. It may take time, but it will be resolved. Any discrepancies on the employer's part should be brought to the notice of the EPF authority with proper proof of service records.

The EPF office handles grievances efficiently. Please get in touch with the concerned EPF officer for this.
