Dear Professionals, I have been an HR professional for two years, and I have worked in various fields of the HR domain. I previously worked with the recruitment team and am now posted in legal & compliance. I'm the only person who is currently acting as a compliance officer. Could you please suggest some ideas to tackle various problems arising, i.e., frequent absenteeism, alcohol consumption, disorderly behavior inside premises, tobacco, violation of company norms, etc.? Please guide me on how to eradicate such problems.

Understanding Your Work Environment

What is your company name? Are you working in a factory or a Head/Zonal/Regional/Branch office?

From your post, I assume that you are working in a factory. The first step is to exhibit Standing Orders (preferably a certified version by the Deputy Labour Commissioner in your area) on the notice board of your company.

Certification Process

If you want to know the details of the certification process, you can ask me.

Addressing Workplace Issues

Once you have your own Certified Standing Orders (CSO), you can slowly address all the malpractices, misconduct, and indiscipline in your factory/company.
