Thanks for your reply.
We are Mumbai based IT company (5days working) and have 12 leaves +12 festival.
Now we are reconsider our existing policy, as per bombay shop establishment ammendments
-is 18leaves are compulsory? Currently we are giving 12 only per month one leave that's it
- we have sandwich leave also
Please give your input please
We are thinking to add 5leaves as sick leave with sandwich policy.
Do we have any rules/act to decide number of work from home or its upto employer?

Hi Mamtakumari,
As far as I know IT/ITES industry are covered under the Shops & Commercial Estts Acts of the respective states. Therefore units within Maharashtra state also are no exception. It's fair enough if you would fall in line with the law applicable, here the Shops & Estt.act. I won't suggest you to copy-paste rules for your co. from rules of other employers. You won't be spared if & when you are prosecuted for violations, you can't justify a wrong doing with another wrong. So safely should verbatim follow the provisions of Shops & Comml.Estts act, not only for leave rules but also in respect of other aspects provided therein.
