I have a query about the termination notice period for an employee. I am an HR professional in a start-up company. An employee, who has been with the company for the past 1.6 years, asked the owner for a salary raise. In response to his email, he immediately received a termination notice, which has caused concern among all employees. No one has received an increment so far, and there are no standard rules in place within the company. Employees want to know what actions can be taken against this decision. Kindly help me with a suitable legal answer within employment law.

2 - The company is not closed on Gazetted Holidays
3 - No specific leaves are provided

5 - Instant termination upon asking these queries

It seems that the owner wants to convey a message to the rest of the employees that if they ask for a raise, they will be asked to leave. Perhaps the business is slow, or he doesn't want to pay. Can you help me understand if you are asking what action can be taken against the owner?

Thank you so much for your reply. The concern was that the employer is not willing to give a hike, bonus, or incentives to any employee.
A new issue has come up. I left my company and was about to join a new firm, so I was out of town. Prior to my exit, I informed them to take the assets such as the laptop and phone from me because I wouldn't be available immediately when I am out. When I informed them via email that I am about to come back, I asked them to please collect the assets from me. Since that day, they have been constantly threatening me through email, accusing me of stealing their assets. In every email of mine, I informed them to collect, but all I am receiving are threatening emails. What actions should I take? Please help me out.
