I work for Amazon (customer service). On a call, I stated that Amazon’s service is a waste, and I also suggested that the customer file a case against Amazon. Later on, I was called by HR, and he asked me to sign a show cause notice. I signed it, and this afternoon I submitted my response to the show cause notice and emailed HR.

Concerns about Consequences

What will happen to me next? Will I be blocked from applying for jobs in other companies? Will I be fined? Will a case be registered against me? Will my PAN card details get blocked? Will I be jailed? Please help me.

Why you spoke against the company has not been mentioned. Anyway, what you did is adequate cause to give you a termination letter. There is no question of jail and fine, etc. However, the whole incident does not speak well of an employee.

Employee Faith and Company Representation

All the employees are expected to show their utmost faith in the company's products and services. There are many who do not have such faith, but they pretend to demonstrate it. They do it for the sake of their career or because of family responsibility.

In your case, far from showing faith or pretending about it, you have advised the customer to go against the company! For every company, converting customers into positive spokespersons is a significant challenge. In your case, instead of creating positive spokespersons, you tried to make the customer negative. Which company will accept that?

Internal Concerns and Consequences

If you had reservations about how the customers were handled, why did you not raise these internally? What was the hold-up? Now the company has issued you a show cause notice, and you have replied to it as well. The grounds provided are sufficient to terminate your services. Your other questions are irrelevant. Nothing of that sort will happen. However, if your company issues a service-cum-employment certificate with negative remarks for separation, then this certificate practically has no value. It will render your tender at Amazon useless.

Loyalty to Your Company

1. When you work for any company, you must be loyal to that company as a principle of the code of conduct.

Providing Feedback

2. As an employee, if you are not satisfied with the service or product of your company, you must give feedback to the company on the lapses for improvement. Your company will appreciate your concern for improvement.

Violation of Company Policy

3. Instead, you have instigated your customer, prompting them to file a complaint against the company. This is wrong and a violation of the standing orders of your employment and code of conduct. Never go against the company in the future. Be faithful and loyal to the organization.
