I worked in Company A for 1.5 years, but they didn't deduct PF. Later, I switched to Company B where I worked for 3 months, and they provided PF, and I obtained a UAN number as well. Now, I have joined Company C without obtaining a relieving letter from Company B. Company C has asked me to fill out Form 11 for PF, but I am unable to provide details of my previous employment PF contributions as Employer C is unaware of my employment at Company B. Is it possible to generate a new UAN number, or will Employer C find out about Company B? This time, I have provided a different mobile number.

If you provide another mobile number to your employer at Company C, it does not matter to them. Your employer at Company C can know your name through a PF establishment search if you give them your company name. They can also know the PF status of your previous employer, Company B.

If you provide the PF account number of Company B to your employer at Company C, they can find out your UAN number. They can determine your tenure of experience in the previous job through this information. They can self-activate your UAN after a search. So, even if you don't provide the UAN or PF account to your current employer, they can find it. If you have any queries regarding this, please feel free to contact me.

Hello Saumitra and Ruchika,

I am also in a similar situation and want to understand the implications that followed. Does the new employer go into verification details using UAN number and create issues in new employment? Can we somehow get the PF account details of company B removed from our UAN account?

Thanks

Understanding UAN and Bank Account Linkage

Your UAN number is linked with your bank account number. If you create a new bank account, a new UAN number will be generated, provided you do not provide your previous UAN number to your new employer. So, if you don't want your new employer to know your previous organization's UAN number, simply open a new bank account and give them the new bank account number.

@harpreet singh, please let the Indian hardworking citizens breathe peacefully instead of putting strain on them by providing fictional information. I request you to provide information based on research and analysis.

Hi, I am in the same situation. As per my knowledge, the current employer will create a new PF account that will be linked to the same UAN number for us to view. I am confused about whether the current employer has the ability to see the previous PF account.

Dear All, If your previous UAN link with Aadhar number even though you are trying to create the new UAN number it will not create. Thanks, Vineet

I worked in company A for 2 years, then worked in company B for 6 months. Now, I am working in company C for the last 2 years. However, my experience at company B has become a problem for me in terms of joining the next company. Can I omit it from my resume?

Hi All, I am also facing same problem but company B maintains the PF in their trust. Now can company C know my previous company B...

Previous employment can be searched with the previous UAN number. If a newly joined employee does not provide their previous UAN or PF number, then the UAN will be shown to the new company when creating a new UAN if Aadhaar is linked. If Aadhaar is not linked, then the previous number will not be shown. There is no matter of using a mobile number.

Hi,

1) My UAN number is Aadhar seeded, but I don't want to show that UAN number to a new employer. If I hide that UAN number from the new employer, how will they find out or what message will the employer receive while creating a new UAN?

2) Similarly, how can I remove KYC details like Aadhar from my UAN number?

3) Please inform me about both of the above points ASAP.
