1. Sir, technically speaking, no pension is paid by ESIC if the covered employee dies in service. The correct term for such a pension is called "Dependent Benefit," i.e., DB.
2. Dependent Benefit is paid to dependents of a deceased employee as defined in the ESI Act, 1948, and only if the covered employee dies as a result of an employment injury or accident that occurred due to and in the course of employment.
