Dear Cite HR members, I would appreciate it if someone could clarify the following queries for a small not-for-profit organization (new startup) constituted under Section 8(1) of the Companies Act 2013, based out of Haryana state. The organization provides vocational training and currently has 5 employees and one intern:

Leave policies for a not-for-profit startup

1) Are there mandatory paid leaves for an employee?

Public holidays in India

2) What are the mandatory public holidays?

Minimum salary requirements

3) What is the minimum salary for an employee working 8 hours a day in this startup? The workweek is from Monday through Saturday, 6 days a week.

I would appreciate it if you could provide a legal link for the same too.

National and festival holidays as required under the state rules are applicable.

Paid leave needs to be given after one year of completed service. The quantum depends on state rules again. Check the Shop and Establishment Act of your state.

Minimum salary is also defined. Check Paycheck.in.
