Hi Friends,
Please advise us on the situation where we do not have any ESI contribution-eligible candidates in our organization since 2016. All employees are earning more than 22,000/-. Up to 2015, we have settled all ESI dues. Now, we wish to terminate ESI and obtain a surrender certificate for our limited (LTD) company. Can we cancel the ESI certification, or is it necessary to register for our LTD company? If registration needs to be maintained, how can we stop ESI contributions?
Thank you.

ESI Registration and Contribution Requirements
As long as your company exists, the question of surrendering your ESI Registration does not arise. Please submit a manual Nil Half-Yearly return to the ESI Branch Office concerned without fail. ESI Contribution is not payable in respect of your direct and indirect employees provided their gross salary is above the present wage ceiling of Rs 21,000/- and above. If there is an increase in the ESI wage ceiling, then remit contributions. If your establishment is closed permanently, then you can surrender ESI Registration.

Hello Friends,
Please give me advice on the following background: I closed my business back in 2014 but had not applied for the cancellation of my ESIC. Now, in March 2019, I have received a notice stating that I have defaulted in payment of ESIC from February 2014 to January 2019. The default amount calculated by the department amounts to Rs. 6,00,000. I have no idea what needs to be done from my side to get this cleared, and I also need to provide reasoning to the department before 17/04/2019.
If anyone knows about the solution, please reply. I would be very grateful.
Thanking you in advance
