Dear Pramod, it is advisable to first check the applicability of rules to your organization. The rules are available on the net. Check NBC guidelines.
Once you are sure that you meet the requisite parameters, then simply write a letter to your Divisional Fire Officer to arrange an inspection. In case everything is in order, an NOC will be given for 3 years, though it will need to be renewed every year. After 3 years, a re-inspection will be required, and the process will continue.
You will have to submit certain documents along with the letter seeking inspection. Generally, the list of such documents includes:
1. Copy of the approved building plan.
2. Copy of permission to operate your business.
3. Copies of tax paid on the property.
4. List of escape arrangements.
5. Height of the building.
6. Number of staircases with width.
7. Fire detection and fire alarm systems available.
8. List of firefighting arrangements available.
9. Details of fire pumps with capacity.
10. Number of in-gates and out-gates with width.
It is advisable to meet the Divisional Fire Officer and arrange an inspection by him before seeking inspection. This way, shortcomings, if any, will become known in advance.
Best of luck.
