Dear All,

I just wanted some advice if a private employer can suddenly change the terms and conditions of your employment without consent, for no reason, and without notice deduct more than 75 percent of your wages. He says the salary has been changed for the past two months, and this is the new salary without consent from an employee who has been working for over three years.

Dear Expat2020,

Before giving any comments, it is important to know the background of the case. Therefore, please confirm the following:

1. Your date of joining, designation, etc.
2. Was that person involved in any misconduct? If yes, was any domestic enquiry conducted?
3. Were there any strained relations with the employee?
4. Could salary reduction be a ploy to drive the employee away?

Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
