Hi, I have a query on which I believe someone would be able to help me out. I was working in a company for 2 years and am currently not employed with them. I am planning to withdraw my PF account. The issue that I have is that in my bank records, employee records, and even for the PF account, the name is Anwar Backer Perayil. However, on my PAN card, the name is Anvar, and also on the TDS that I have from my previous company, the name is shown as Anvar.

Name Discrepancy Issue

So, I would like to know if the change of name in my PAN will cause any issues if I try withdrawing my PF money. If so, is there anything else that my ex-employer or I could do so that I would get the money? If the name on the PAN would not be an issue, what should be the name that I should mention in the forms 10C, form 19, and 15G - Anvar or Anwar Backer Perayil?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Anwar

Anwar,

I understand that your name in the PAN is incorrect. If your name on the PAN card is wrong, get it corrected first. Ensure that the correct name is also updated on your Aadhaar card.

Once this is done, you should not encounter any issues with PF withdrawal.

Cheers,

Hello, PAN card correction did not work because the department doesn't allow a name, for example, 'Amal L', which has one initial in my Aadhaar and other documents. So, I don't want to correct my PAN card. Please tell me an alternate way to access my PF without incurring tax implications. Additionally, my UAN name is correct.
