Challenges Faced by Learning and Development Managers in Engaging Participants and Driving Learning - CiteHR

Dear All,

I am looking for your valuable comments on some of the challenges that a Learning and Development Manager faces. For example, Driving Learning Adoption. Most End Users Tend To De-Prioritize Learning Due To Delivery Pressures.

Thanks

Participant Perspective on Learning and Development

My views on the issue from the other side of the fence, as a participant in training programs, are that the learning and development content often sounds theoretical and fails to engage the participants in the learning process. As a result, the participants, even after completing the program, continue to do things the same way they did in the past. This indicates that the L&D efforts have failed to bring about the intended change.

Steps to Improve Learning Engagement

The L&D Manager should sit with operational heads to identify the problem areas and skill gaps. Subsequently, they should hold discussions with instructional designers to help them create content that can effectively engage the participants and align with their needs.
