Hi,

I would like to ask you that I have generated a UAN number and also uploaded an ID proof document. The UAN number was generated by my old company. However, my old company does not have a digital signature, so they are unable to verify my uploaded document. As a result, I am facing some problems in my new company. What would you suggest?

Thank you.

Dear Kirti,

Don't worry. Have patience. It is the duty of the PF department to comply with the digital signature of the company. You need not worry. If the company fails to do so, they may face a show cause notice regarding why they have not uploaded the digital signature.

Now the solution is that you don't need to worry about whether the past employer has uploaded the digital signature or not. Ask your new employer to upload the returns with the new member ID. UAN is not required or compulsory to create a new member ID in Form 9. If the new company pays you one month's salary and contributes one month to EPFO, then a new UAN will be generated. You can use that newly generated UAN for the future. All the best.

Please log in to the EPF portal with your UAN and password and navigate to the Profile tab. Look for 'UPDATE KYC DETAILS.' Here, you can update your KYC information and upload an ATTESTED PHOTOCOPY OF KYC document.

Hope this helps you achieve your goal.
