Upon receiving a complaint from his supervisor, issue a show cause notice and deduct wages for that day under the "no work, no pay" concept.
Alternatively, call him and counsel him regarding his job search outside the company, aiming to resolve the issue and instill confidence in him to retain his position.
If he has lost confidence in the company and is unable to give his full effort at work, it may be more beneficial to allow him to leave voluntarily. Keeping him in such a situation could be counterproductive.

If this was the first time, the employee has done this, I would take this option. However, I will also consider how long this employee has been working here, what his job performance has been, and generally how he gets along with coworkers, supervisors, etc. Definitely, he will be on the watch list from now on.
