Keep it simple. Have a board where you display poems and paintings created by the children of employees, and recognize the best employee of the week. Organize a painting competition with a different theme every month and conduct training on various safety, security, and HR fields monthly. Celebrate important days like 26th January, 15th August, Environment Day, Safety Day, etc. Hold a slogan competition and outdoor training yearly for all employees. Organize sports activities within the organization with yearly competitions among groups, departments, houses, etc. Also, arrange cultural programs regularly, celebrate the foundation day of the organization, and many more activities. Just do it with small activities.

Some really useful info by Capt. Trajeshwar Singh. Days like 26 Jan, 15 Aug, Diwali, etc., give us an opportunity to break the monotony and engage employees in a meaningful way. Besides, companies can think of innovative ideas to bring in the fun element. For example, they could easily do tug of war among departments or invite a celebrity to talk to the employees. There are tons of ways, but all you need is budget and the right intentions :)

You can do activities like birthday celebrations, company days, sports days, family days, magazines/newsletters, quizzes, games, etc., to bring people together. Try to keep them cross-functional.
You can also conduct skip-level meetings, ask each employee about their concerns, prepare minutes, and then try to resolve these problems. Real engagement comes when there is transparency, and employees feel they are valued, their appraisals are fair, and they are listened to. They get career progression.
