I joined a company last month and am currently on probation, where my notice period is one month. My dad is critically ill, and I am considering leaving my current company (after resigning) without serving the notice period.

I wanted to know what the consequences would be and whether there would be any legal issues or blacklisting by my current company. As per my offer letter, I have to pay one month's salary amount and return the joining bonus.

You mentioned that you are still on the probation period. During this time, you are always liable to be terminated without any reason, notice, or pay in lieu of notice. Only upon successful completion of the probation period is a notice period required by either party for the termination of service. You can submit your resignation, stating the reasons and supporting it with medical documents, effective immediately without serving the notice period. No legal action can be taken against you in this case.
