An employee takes a day off in a month. The actual working days in a month are 26, but he works only 25 days. The remaining day is taken as a day off. How should it be calculated - deducted from working days or added to working days? The day off is calculated as earned leave. Can someone please explain?

C/Off & EL Policy Guidelines

C/Off and Earned Leave (EL) should be dealt with separately. If an employee works on a weekly-off or on a holiday (at least for 6 hours of work), they will be entitled to one day of compensatory off (C/Off). As a general policy, C/Off should be availed within two months from the date of working on a weekly-off day or on a holiday. C/Off will not accumulate for the future year, nor can it be encashed.

These are the general guidelines followed. However, some minor changes may occur, depending on the personnel/HR policy from company to company.
