Dear Seniors! I have this one query on Leave Management. A few of our employees could not make it to the office due to heavy rains as the trains were not working. These employees are demanding that we do not consider this day as a leave, as they had no options to reach the office. My query is, what is the best possible solution in this case? If we do not consider it as a leave, will it not be unfair to other employees who made it to work despite the rains? What are the general industry standards?
Our organization has just general leaves. Our leaves are not segregated as casual, sick, etc.
Awaiting your valuable feedback.

In this case, you can discuss the matter with senior management to find out the solution according to your company policies. There is another practice in such cases; you can ask those employees to compensate the same in the next coming weekend. You can make those days as compensatory unless it is really unfair for others who are making it to the office in a similar condition.
