Hi Everyone, as a top manager or executive in a foreign company, how many times can you grant such a person home leave? Three times per year? Under which leave type will this be approved?

The amount of leave should be stated in the Contract of Employment, Offer of Employment, or Letter of Appointment. Therefore, you need to refer to the relevant document that was issued to the employee. If an amount of Home Leave is stipulated, then that is the approval required. If Home Leave is not stipulated, then the home leave is part of the Annual Leave.
I hope the above helps.

I work for a company where we employ expatriates in about 22 countries. When an expatriate is employed in soft locations such as India, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey, and the like, we offer them leave of 30 days per year, but we pay for their official travel to their hometown once every 2 years. The tickets are provided for them and their family members. It is up to them to plan their leave and decide on how many days they want to take. The unavailed leave can be encashed. If they desire to go more frequently, they are welcome to do so at their own cost and within the entitlement of their leave. Apart from that, we provide 7 days of Sick Leave and 6 days of casual leave. In case the employee is on single status, we provide a ticket every year.
We also have hard locations such as Nigeria. Here we allow them 26 days of leave after every 91 days of working if they are on bachelor status. In case they are on family status, we provide 31 days of leave after every 5 months.
In countries such as the Netherlands, USA, Denmark, Mexico, etc., we provide them with 21 days of vacation leave per year and provide one ticket a year to them and their family members. Normally, employees there desire to encash the ticket and travel maybe once in two years or more.
In France, we have an oil well, and since the exploration is offshore, we provide leave of 30 days for every 30 days worked and provide them a ticket once every two months.
In all locations, we allow the encashment of the value of the ticket in case they do not go on leave.
Hope this information is useful.

Usually, in the case of foreign nationals, the terms of leave and ticket fare per year are part of the employment contract. Depending upon the type of industry and nature of work, you should, as a company policy, define the leave quantum. This should also consider that it is above the Indian minimum leave quantum defined in laws applicable to you, as well as the common practice of the foreign national's home country.
Useful information on how it is handled, probably in the oil & exploration industry, has been posted by an anonymous member.

Hi Friends, even though I work for an MNC with our presence in SEA, UK, & US, we have a home leave policy in place. We provide a total of 25 annual leaves, with 12 or more sick leaves as per local country laws. Employees can utilize the home leaves from their annual leave entitlement, and we offer return economy class airfare to the home country for the employee and their family once a year.
If a person wishes to return to the home country more than once, they can choose to pay for themselves and utilize the allotted number of annual leaves.
