Hi all, recently (2 months ago), I joined a healthcare IT company in Hyderabad. During the interview, I was informed and confirmed that the position was for a specific project and not for a pool. After joining, I discovered that I have been placed in a pool, which is the same situation for many of my colleagues over the last 4 months.

So, can I now try to join another company in this case, or what should I do? Kindly advise.

Thanks.

Please check your offer and terms and conditions. Normally, with regard to the termination of the contract of employment, it is a mutually agreed term wherein you can buy the notice period or serve it. Under the Shops and Establishments Act, the maximum notice period is one month for both probationary and permanent employment. After serving for one month, there is no legal binding on you. You can happily seek separation. If this is not happening, you can seek the intervention of the Commissioner of Labour for redressal.

Thank you very much for your valuable suggestion. Please help me out with the following queries:

1) Currently, I am on probation, and I have been relocated from Bangalore to Hyderabad. As per the relocation policy, the company provided me with hotel accommodation and relocation expenses, but there is no agreement regarding the same in the offer letter. So, if I receive a new offer and decide to change companies, do I need to repay all those expenses?

2) If I am joining a new company, do I need to include this two-month experience? If not, what needs to be addressed for this two-month period?

Thank you.

If it is on your request and the company demands repayment of relocation expenses, you need to comply; otherwise, no. Most likely, the company may request repayment, so mentally prepare for covering relocation expenses other than hotel expenses if there is a moral obligation to do so.

Explanation of Recent Activities

You need to explain what happened in the last two months. Nobody expects any exceptional output or skill acquisition in such a short period as two months, especially if you are a fresher. It may be easily overlooked, but it could lead to concerns; therefore, please clarify this from the outset.
