I am Mrithika, working as an HR professional in a company in Coimbatore. We are planning to implement a mediclaim insurance policy for our employees. We have already reached out to a few insurance companies and gathered basic details such as the sum assured, premium, and the list of hospitals covered. However, we are uncertain about the quality of their services. Therefore, we kindly request your suggestions on the best insurance company in Coimbatore that offers a well-serviced group mediclaim policy for our employees.

If ESIC is applicable to you, go for that. Claims under this are not limited. If not, then ask for policy terms from the company, study, and compare the facilities provided by them. Please note that a Mediclaim Policy is an agreement between two parties, and the premium depends on the benefits added to the policy details. The sum covered is limited.

Thank you for your reply. We have spoken to a few of the insurance companies, and the services offered by them are more or less the same. I wanted to know which insurance company's service is better for a group mediclaim policy for the employees. If you can suggest a company, it would be helpful for us in making the right decision.

Government vs. Private Insurance Companies
Mostly, government insurance companies are safe, but their service levels are poor. With the introduction of third-party processing and cashless transactions, things have improved significantly.
In comparison, private companies are very efficient, especially in renewing your policy. At the moment, they are promptly clearing all bills to build their reputation. However, in the future, they may begin to make excuses to avoid payment.
It's best to have insurance from a government company and work with a very strong broker who can ensure your payments are cleared without delay.

Dear Mirthika,
You may please try M/s Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company headquartered in Madurai and with branches all over India. They are one of the biggest TVS group companies. Their services are excellent, very systematic, and easy to approach. You may please visit their website to find contact information for the local office.
Please note that you do not need to provide coverage for employees who are already under the purview of the ESI Act.

All posts are our members' genuine experiences. To add my share, you can have general insurance companies of the government and TPA; you can have some good private service providers. Leaving both the work of insurance and service to private insurance companies, in all goodness does not keep your employees happy.
