Hi everyone,
I am in a strange situation. I have resigned from a company and joined a new one. I wanted an early release from my previous employer so that I could join my current employer on time. So, what I did was I gave a resignation letter and left the job before the notice period to join the new company. Now, the problem is my previous employer is not willing to provide a relieving letter. Is there a solution to my problem? Also, was what I did correct? Since I was desperate for a change, I quit my previous job and joined a new company. Please reply to this at the earliest. I am seriously in need of a relieving letter from my previous employer.

Hi Coolprince,
There's nothing to worry much about. All you need to do is tell your new employer that the concerned person hasn't issued your relieving letter due to a heavy workload. You will only be able to get it when he is free from all those tasks. Assure them that you will submit your relieving letter soon. If the company you are joining is not very big or famous, then there's no need to worry. If it is, take some time to ensure you can provide what they need on time.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi, were you able to get the letter?
A friend of mine is in a similar situation and needs the relieving letter (the new company is a big shot and famous one). He is really depressed and worried because if he doesn't join within the date, the offer would be nullified (he has also resigned from his current company but is not getting the release before 60 days - notice period, which the new company is not agreeing to).
Please help.

Understanding Relieving Letter Issues
The reason we are having these relieving letter issues is because we do not take the time to read and understand our joining instructions. We need to be more aggressive and future-focused when discussing terms with our prospective employers. Then, follow these terms religiously.
