I have implemented an Employee code system in our organization. According to that, we have issued appointment letters and ID cards to all employees. However, in the event that an employee resigns, I am unsure of how to maintain the employee code system. For instance, if I have assigned employee code 04 to employee X and he resigns, how should the employee system be managed?
Please advise.

In general, once a number is given, it should not be reallocated to someone else. Whether you need to issue it to someone who has already left is for you to decide, taking into account what the numbers are used for.

You have to assign a new employee number for the employee who joins. Additionally, do not assign the same number to the new employee as the one who has resigned. You can have the employee code and the PF number (if applicable) the same so that it will be easier for you to track the details easily. For example, if your company name is XYZ LTD, you can assign the employee code as X00001. For the same employee, you can create the PF number as 1.
