depends..
there are several aspects of talent aquisition which majority are not adept in:-
1. Learning how to make/ review a Standard position description (JD)
2. manpower planning
3. assessment - MBTI/ RSI/ ability tests

Dear Deepti,
The HR doesn't end with Recruitment, in fact it has just started. Many other areas to follow. A successful Recruiter really a good omen to shine at the next level. A HR will have the challenges from the next level onwards only. For this you have to be equipped with knowledge of all labour related laws and overall functioning of your organisation and maintain good working rapport with other HODs. As a first step you must have overall knowledge of the laws of the land. The attached notes will help you to have glimpse of such acts. Also you must possess atleast the Bare Acts of all these laws which will be handy for reference. It is good for you as you are in a renowned co. and hopefully many of the relevant provisions must be already in vogue there. That has become easy. Involve in other activities of your HRD which will project you as a Pro-active person and serve as a stepping stone. Keep updating your knowledge by reading/referrring latest developments, case laws and citeHR one such a thing.
All the best.

Hi deepti, each HR sub process has a larger potential in itself. Recruitment, over the years has become a very scientific process and there is great knowledge set available to get into it systematically. The reason is that a wrong selection becomes a liability for the organisation. Hence how to provide right candidate is a competency which is very challenging one. Once you are sure you are determined to go for this portfolio, thing would work automatically for you. Just one thing, never go in any portfolio with doubts.. wish you all the best.

Recruitment is not a useless work of HR. There is a lot that you can do and learn within recruitment. I am not sure if you have been through every kind of hiring such as mass-hiring, campus hiring, vendor management, headhunting, technical hiring, hiring for senior management, etc. It is very vast. On top it, you have 100's of Recruitment Metrics...that you need to know and follow. Have you done all of these?
