I work for 'Sutherland Global Services'. It's a BPO company, and now I am asked to prepare an employee's job profiling. I am a little bit confused about it. Could anyone please tell me how to prepare that, what kind of questions should be asked, and how to analyze it? It's very urgent, by the way.

Understanding Job Profiles and Job Descriptions

Job profile is equal to JD (Job Description) in short form. A JD should have information that pertains to employees' work details, roles, and responsibilities, which they need to perform during the annual service cycle (from appraisal to appraisal). This information needs to be agreed upon by the employee and their immediate manager.

The JD should be reviewed by the immediate manager quarterly, semi-annually, and annually for employee appraisals. The JD should be designed or written by the Project Leader, Process Leader, or Project Head for their team (this varies from process to process).

If you are in HR, you don't have to worry about this; leave it to the Process Head or Project Head. As an HR professional, you need to use this as the basis for employee appraisals. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
