Hi!!! Anu
I don't have any problem coming anywhere in Delhi. As Mr. Pankaj said any place in Delhi so that people from near by areas can come for the meet. I had gone through the excel sheet which consist of Roles for the team members I must say good wok. I think lets give everybody a chance to decide the responsibility they want to take up after that if any changes required with mutual consent we can work on distributing the responsibility accordingly or we can discuss this in the next coming meet where we all can decide everybody's roles &responsibilities at that very moment because in the coming meet it will be clear as well that who all are really willing to work & take up the responsibility.

On the first note, I appreciate all of you guys for recognizing and appreciating the efforts of Geeti. However, I do not want the token to be divided. My demand for my token remains the same 😉😄. Guys, think it over. Also, FYI... Personal gifts along with tokens are also accepted. So, guys, do not worry, come gift me. I am waiting here 😉🙂.

Anyways, now back to the business,

I too agree that we should go with a venue in and around South or Central Delhi, keeping in mind those city-dwellers who attend meets from Noida, Gurgaon, and Faridabad.

The next important thing that strikes me is... If I go through this thread, I see regular members like Anupama, Geeti, Himani, Pankaj Ji, Poonam, Monika, Poonam & Radhika interacting so often. Now, where are the rest of the volunteers?

Deepika, Pratibha, Anshu, Vivek, and many more. So, our next step should be calling our volunteers right away and bringing them onto the same page. We might have excellent thoughts, but nothing can be implemented without people. So, the immediate step should be bringing all the volunteers to the same page before we actually meet. Someone should take care of calling all the volunteers and letting them know that discussions like these are ongoing and request them to visit the thread, etc.

So, now, who can take that responsibility? I think the best fit would be either Geeti or Anupama. What do you say, guys?

Neeru,

Thanks for your appreciation and welcome to the ever-winning team of CITE HR TEAM - DELHI/NCR. You sure are going to benefit from this. Looking forward to meeting you at the upcoming meets.

A training program for top management.

A well-known motivational speaker gathered the entire crowd's attention, saying, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!"

The crowd was shocked!

He followed up by saying, "That woman was my mother!"

The crowd burst into laughter, and he gave his speech, which was well-received.

About a week later, one of the top managers who had attended the training decided to use that joke at his house. He tried to rehearse the joke in his head, but it was a bit foggy to him.

He said loudly, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my wife!"

Naturally, his wife was shell-shocked, murmuring.

After standing there for almost 10 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the manager finally blurted out, "... and I can't remember who she was!"

As expected, he got the thrashing of his lifetime.

Moral of the story: Don't copy if you can't paste.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Dear All,

Just came to know through a friend about Cite HR meet in Delhi, but due to some reasons, I just missed it... bad luck... It happens with us many times when you search for something everywhere but at last, you find it around the corner... the same thing happened with me this time... I have been attending HR meets, conferences, and workshops in various places, but when one happened in Delhi, I missed it... Please include my name as one of the volunteers for the next HR Meet. Also, to add, the pictures were awesome... whoever took the pictures... I must say... Good Job... Keep up the enthusiasm!

Come on, guys, let's rock the capital again on 29th July for discussing the roles of the volunteers. What do you say, guys? Let's do it again.

Hi Archana, Geeti, Kiran & everybody there!

I could not participate in the last meeting. It's nice to see the enthusiasm and prevailing team spirit among CiteHR NCR members. I am looking forward to attending the next meeting. What would be the agenda of the meeting on 29th July apart from the allocation of roles and responsibilities of nominated volunteers?

It is always a great experience whenever I see this THREAD, and I can't resist myself from saying this... so, YO... YO... YO.

On the first hand... Welcome to Umesh & Anshu.

Umesh,

We surely would update you regarding the next meet. So, see if you can make it for that. It would be a fantastic experience to have you with us at our next meet.

Anshu,

You finally joined hands with the Delhi/NCR Volunteer Team. Good... Never late than ever!!! Also, the roles and responsibilities are not yet decided. We are meeting on 29th July 07 to decide on this particular thing. So, let us see which one would be assigned for you!!

Anupama,

As usual... You ROCK!!! You are the LIVE WIRE of this thread. KUDOS to you once again.

Hey Alok,

Good to see you on the thread again. Welcome back :) . Hope to meet you on 29th July 07.

Monika,

As far as the agenda for the 29th July 07 meet is concerned... we would be assigning certain roles for each and every volunteer. Those particular members would be actively taking care of that particular activity. So, we would be basically deciding on the roles of the volunteers.

Now, where is Geeti & Pankaj Ji???

Geeti,

After seeing this post, please do not reply saying that I am busy with my office work... because I am also really busy at my home eating, watching movies, chitchatting, and all stuff, but still, I am posting at least something over here... so, you better take out some time to post... WHAT SAY, GUYS???

Finally, here we go with Date, Venue & Time

Date: 29 July 07
Venue: Nirulas, Cp (There is another outlet in CP that is real spacious)
Time: 12:00pm

If anybody is inconvenient with any of the above things... please revert so that we can accordingly make necessary adjustments... what say???

Hi Neeru,

Thanks for clarifying my doubt 😊.

Umesh,

Do not be in a hurry, July 29th is not actually a CITEHR OFFLINE MEET. The actual CITEHR OFFLINE MEET is supposed to happen on 19th August 07. The meet on 29 July is for volunteers to decide our roles and responsibilities. So, I don't think that there would be any formal HR topics discussion, and of course, informal discussion is possible though not sure. Still, if you are interested, you are most welcome 😊. Or else, 19 Aug 07 would be a perfect fit where we are going to plan some presentations on HR topics from our members and informal discussions too. Hope, I am clear.

Now, to the GANG,

We should be able to get some badges for the volunteers first and then for the members. We have spare badges of somewhere around 15, 10 with Nitin and 5 or more with Archana. So, the purpose for volunteers would be served. Rest, we need to get them done by a vendor. For this badges thing, I would get in touch with Nitin.

So, GANG, for these BADGES... we should use the funds we have with us now... WHAT SAY???

Also, I still remember having a word with Vivek on this fund maintenance and stuff. Somehow, he got disconnected from us. Let me see... If I can get in touch with him to discuss regarding this.

Anupama,

You do not worry... I will get in touch with Nitin for these badges and also with Vivek for further proceedings.

Kiran.

Hello!

I had a blast at my friend's function :) I will share the experience with you all on 29th July.

I want to start by giving a few THANKS to our enthusiastic CHR NCR VOLUNTEER GANG. Anu, you truly are doing a great job. Thanks a ton for keeping the thread alive. Also, thanks to Radhika, Monica, Himani, and Aanchal for posting and pumping the oxygen that's needed to keep the thread going.

Hey Anu, in case you are still unable to upload the list, ask Sid to do it for you; that'll surely be a help.

Hi Umesh, welcome to the gang. I really appreciate your interest in this venture of ours and obviously the attitude of not backing up once you have taken the plunge. Kudos!

Hi Anshu, good to see your post. Looking forward to meeting you. You surely justified Himani's confidence that you'll be there with us through thick and thin, even if you were not there for the last meet.

And now, Kiran Sir, well, well, I was not busy because of the official work. I was more busy enjoying preparing and participating in my friend's function, so that explains my absence from the thread. I will show you the pics when you are back, and you better bring something from home for us

Confirming the details for the 29th July meet:

Date & Day: 29th July 2007

Venue: CP Nirulas, it's "NIRULAS POUT POURI" next to "Blues" (I will update the block on Monday for further convenience)

Time: 12 pm (Because Kiran loves sleeping till late on Sundays, lazy  )

Till then, keep posting...

Cheers! :)

Dear All,

Thanks for boosting my morale upwards. Aanchal, I just recognized a few postings of yours addressing me as "Umesh Sir"... dear friend, I like to be known as "Umesh" and please...

Last night, I spent a few hours reading all 18 pages of this particular posting, and you won't believe me, I felt like I should be working in Delhi, and later on, I felt guilty like... why I left my job in Delhi three years ago. So much inquisitiveness, enthusiasm, and a greater charm among all you guys... I really appreciate that, both professionally and personally.

I just came across a nice poem... thought to share with all my new friends of CiteHr.

Thanks to all for accepting me as your another friend.

Warm regards,

BLESS THE ONE...

Blessed is the one who realizes

I need a helping hand today

Blessed is the one who recognizes

My needs and turns not his face away

Blessed is the one who brightens my day

When I'm lonely, sad, or bored

Blessed is the one who shows me the way

Smoothing the ground on this stretch of road

Blessed is the one who makes me smile

When the day seems dull and dreary

Blessed is the one who stops awhile

To say hello and chat with me

Blessed is the one who brings me comfort

And reminisces about the good old days

Blessed is the one whose moral support

Provides me strength in times of dismay

Blessed is the one who comprehends

My memory is dim, my work imperfect

Blessed is the one who holds my hand

Seeing my hesitant and tottering gait

Blessed is the one who stands by me close

When 'so-called' friends abandon me

Blessed is the one who clearly knows

That my sight is poor and blurry

Blessed is the one who understands

My infirmity and helps me with my load

Blessed is the one who is still my friend

Though gifts and treats I can't afford

Blessed is the one who thinks I'm useful

Encouraging me with hopeful words

Blessed is the one who boosts my morale

When with problems I'm fraught

Blessed is the one who listens to me

And makes me feel relevant

Blessed is the one who believes in me

That I'm not antediluvian

Blessed is the one who walks with me

On this lap of life's journey

Blessed is the one who prays for me

That in mind and body I'm healthy

Thank you, friend, for being there

At the time and place I need you

Be it balmy or blustery weather

My journey is easier because of you.

Monday morning is always good.

Umesh,

Thanks for your interest in meeting all of us. My idea behind asking you to be there for the 19 Aug '07 meeting is to fully benefit from it and nothing else. If you are interested in meeting us on 29 July '07 itself, that is wonderful. You are always most welcome 😊.

Anshu,

Yes, I think I like NIRULAS... I need to find out one good reason why 😊. Looking forward to meeting you on 29 July '07.

Also, I forgot to address one person in my thanksgiving speech... So, here we go...

Himani,

I somehow did not address you in my previous posts. So, here we go... Thank you very much for congratulating me.

Hope I did not forget anyone other than Himani.

Also, all of those expecting a treat, please note that the treat depends on the token I would be awarded with. If I am given one of my demands, you will surely get a nice treat, or else I need to think it over 😊.

Now, as far as badges are concerned, I had a word with Nitin yesterday. We have 10 spare badges as of now and also the vendor details. So, all the volunteers will be getting badges on 29 July '07, whereas for the members, we can get them done by 19 Aug '07. Also, Nitin will be there for the meeting.

We need to get in touch with Vivek. I was unable to... I will try once again and get in touch soon.

Waiting for 29 July '07... Till then, keep rocking... Yo... Yo... Yo.

Kiran.

Actually, I was out of station for some official work and may have to move out of the city for one week or so... 😞 ... for some official work... but never mind, I shall try to keep myself updated wherever I am in India. 😊 Thanks for remembering me also to all those who had sent PMs and phone calls! 😊

All the best to one and all for the forthcoming Volunteer's meet on 29th July '07 (Sun) in Nirulas! 😄

Hello Intellexxxxx,

I had just gone through the role and responsibilities posted by Anu. I need to add a few points:

I believe we need to have a Sponsorship team/fundraising team dedicated to this work because in an event, this is a major task. Although all the other team members do contribute and actively participate in the process of raising funds, having a dedicated Sponsorship Team would be beneficial. The Sponsorship Team roles would include:

1. Organizing visits to potential clients based on leads.
2. Coordinating all fundraising activities.

I would like to hear your views on this. Do you think there is a need for it? I felt so, that's why I shared it with you.

Hy Radhika,

It was nice speaking to you. I will soon email you regarding your requirements.

Thank you.

Hey all,

I am always one of the latecomers, but promise to change my habit. It's great to see all the enthusiasm and excitement all around. Here are some of my suggestions about the event that we are planning:

1. I read through the team and roles (good stuff). May I suggest if we could also arrange for some press coverage? Even if we are able to arrange a snippet in some newspaper/local Delhi TV channels, that would set the ball rolling. (Maybe an added role for the PR team).

See you all.

Oh, boy!!!

This enthusiasm is never-ending...

Siddharth,

Welcome... never late than ever... so, don't mind :) . Actually, your suggestion is a very good one... should say, but I have certain doubts regarding implementing the same. As you said that you would be there on 29 July for the Volunteer Meet, we would discuss in detail over it while all the members too can chip in with their suggestions then and there itself...

Neeru,

Do not worry, if you could not be there for the 29 July Meet. You can make it to the 19 Aug Meet. We would be glad to see you there and also expect some valuable contributions too :) .

Aanchal,

Good one. We would discuss on this too in our session.

For all those who expect me to get something for them from my home,

Meet me at the Airport on Sunday evening... You all would get whatever you want  :) . Hope, I am clear 8) .

Geeti,

You, please mind that I am not lazy... I can wake up early in case of necessity. Last week when I was to catch my flight in the morning, I woke up somewhere around 5:30 in the morning :) . Even on 1st July, I was there in CP before time :) . Right, guys???

Anyways, was kidding on that note :)

Poonam,

If you are doing something that you love, it does not matter where you are, and so is the case here :D .

Hi Rocking Gang!

Aanchal!

Good Suggestion: We can work on that part.

Siddharth: You are still on time because there are still a couple of old members who have not turned up after that meet?

Your suggestion is really good, but I believe this is too early to do since the coming meet is going to be again an unofficial meet. Therefore, this can be implemented once we see the results of our few meetings.

Hey guys, where are you all Mr. Dudeja, Deepika, Arpita, Vivek, Harsh... all others... come on, guys!

Good morning, gang! The thread is a live wire, active all the time. Kudos to all of you for keeping it alive and pooling in suggestions. They are really good and can be implemented, but they do call for some amount of brainstorming by all the HR GURUS meeting on 29th July.

Hi Sidharth,
I agree with Kiran and Anu that it's a little early for the press coverage at this stage. Let's hang on a bit and then take the plunge into the ocean. What do you say?

Now,
Thanks to all for the wishes for me being a Masi Ji; this makes me sound older :) The list includes Monika, Radhika, Anu, Panakj Ji, Himani, Poonam, Neeru. Thanks to all; hope I haven't missed anyone.

So gang, it's just one weekend between all of us and then BINGO, we meet up. So get ready for the meet and do your homework. I need to do mine; will speak with Mr. Dudeja for the venue.

In the meantime, please suggest some options for the 19th August meet. I did not receive any till now :(.

Good morning, guys! 😊 So, all the preparations are set for the 9th meet, huh...great! 😊 Guys, it'll be great to have your friends come for it as well. The way it happened last time, it'll be a nice way to grow and spread the word around!

And Anu, my thanks for you are due. Great for the job you've done by outlining all responsibilities. Now, it'll be easier for each one of us to choose what to take up!

I'm very sorry for not being regular as I'm busy with my report compilation!!

Good morning, all!

Geeti,

Regarding the formal meeting scheduled for August 19, 2007, the important elements that need to be in place for it to be a successful event are:

1) Deciding on the venue, potentially with the help of sponsors. While it would be fantastic if Mr. Dudeja could assist us with this, we should also have a backup plan in place. Therefore, the best course of action would be to approach certain B-Schools for potential venues. I recall discussing with Himani that she could reach out to her college officials to facilitate this process. Additionally, we can consider reaching out to Radhika's institute as well, in order to secure a venue with ample seating capacity.

2) To attract students from these colleges, we should arrange for presentations by various speakers, maintaining a balance between formal and informal approaches. Therefore, the next step should be to identify individuals interested in presenting on HR topics. While we initially selected Stephen & Satyam as speakers for the upcoming meeting, we subsequently lost contact with them. Hence, someone should make an effort to reconnect with them. Furthermore, besides these two speakers, it would be prudent to have two backup speakers prepared with their presentations in case Stephen & Satyam are unable to attend on August 19, 2007.

Therefore, the critical decisions that need to be made at this juncture to ensure the success of our upcoming meeting are:

1) Finalizing the venue (ideally with sponsorship) 2) Confirming speakers and topics

So, everyone, please contribute your suggestions so we can proceed with the best possible plans.

Regards,

Kiran.

Hi all,

Rightly said, Kiran. I didn't discuss this issue right now. I thought when we all meet in the next gathering, we can discuss it. The reason being that the college will get involved in it. How should we proceed? Will students be invited, or only professionals and faculty members?

For the presentations, it's true that we can have more than two people. I am also looking forward to discussing with all of you how we can organize the HR Conclave for the college, encouraging an industrial interface. In short, how should we proceed?

Hi all CiteHR NCR esteemed members!

It's nice to see all the good suggestions pouring in from various members!

Kiran is also justified when he says that there should be a well-planned agenda this time for the 29th July '07 Volunteers' informal meet, so that there should be smooth planning and execution of preparation for the final formal forthcoming meet on 19th Aug '07!

Well, Anupama has grouped the various activities which can be taken care of by a group of volunteers, and that also needs to be decided and delegated during this informal meet!

It's been a while since we heard anything from Ms. Archana Ma'am!

It is really nice to see all of you participating in this thread very enthusiastically!

Thanks to all those who acknowledged these good wishes and all the encouragement, which is and will remain there from my side for all the CiteHR CHR team members! :)

I hope that activities will progress more quickly when Kiran is back this Sunday and that Geeti is comparatively free from her other obligations, thereby being able to contact Mr. Dudeja for further planning for the forthcoming informal meet!

Till then keep posting!

All the best to everyone involved and associated! :D

Hi all,

SORRY for being late. A project is currently underway at my company, so I haven't had time to catch up on this thread. I will be available for the next meeting on July 29th, but I may not be able to take on any responsibilities this time due to the project. Finally, today I found some time to review all the posts again.

It's great to see everyone's responses regarding our upcoming meetings. What is the agenda for the next meeting? If there's anything I can contribute from my end, I'll be more than happy to help out.

Thanks to all for keeping this thread active.

I always feel boosted up whenever I go through this thread.

Pankaj Ji,

Good to see your post after a small gap :). Archana is down with viral fever. I guess that is the reason for her not being so active on the site. I think she is gonna be there for the 29th July, 07 meet if everything goes fine. Let us wait and see....

Anshu,

I guess it would be not more than 15 members this time. Anyways, someone should take up the initiative to call all the members for their confirmation. Last time, it was Himani & Anupama. Let us wait and see who would it be this time!!! By the way, which venue are you talking about???

Himani,

Perfectly fine. Let us discuss in a broader way when we meet on 29 July, 07.

Prativa,

It's okay if you are busy with your professional assignments. But your presence for the formal meet would be more valuable.

Rajat,

Thanks for your wishes.... Please keep them flowing :)

As of now, names in my mind that are gonna be there for this volunteers meet are:

1) Kiran Mattam

2) Himani Prajapati

3) Geetika Suri

4) Anupama Saini

5) Anshu Gupta

6) Nitin Parijaat

7) Siddharth Nagpal

8) Monika Vaid

9) Poonam Sadna

10) Sumit Kapoor

11) Sandeep

Also, there are certain members called Arpita Roy and many others that need to be called up....

Please do not mind if I forget any names.... Please include your respective names accordingly in case I missed any....

No issues, confirmation work can be handled by me again. 😜

Dear All,

I just silently read few last days posting. I don't know exactly how long will be the actual offline citehr meet of 19th August 2007. What I can say, whatever time we HR people are going to spend there must be very effective. Effective in the sense, all the participants, invitees and volunteers must have a feeling that, they are at the right place to learn and share..like they are doing online on citehr.

In just last fews years, many people have turned to human resources from various other fields especially namely Marketing and Finance and most of them are new to HR.

Whatever matter/presentations we are going to prepare must cite excitement and eagerness too much involves oneself in HR so that the participants are bound to stay and attend the meet attentively. Only then our objective of having such an HR meet will meet.

I remember in my last Organization MUL, a meeting of HR professionals from across the country was organized, where Mr. Siddiqui (Head HR), asked a questions to all of us, “what should be qualities of a HR Manager”..many hands went into the air,. Somebody said, “The person must be an MBA”, somebody said, “he should have a good knowledge of labor laws”, and others answers were like, “the person must be experienced”, the person must have good knowledge of HR and its various functions” and there were 100s of answers from having a good performance management system to adopting Maslow theory etc. but Mr. Siddiqui was not satisfied with any answer. He answered to become an HR Manager, the person must have common sense, some of us laughed and some of us were shocked with his answer”. Than he continued, “if the person has no common sense, how will he test the common sense of the others working in the company and how will he handle problems of all the employees in the company”. And lately, I realized he was right up to a great extent.

Lets talk about business, in this meet some senior members may share their good experiences into HR, which highlight interesting facts about HR. We may prepare matter/presentations on topics such as How to control the attrition in today's scenario, how to retain good employees, how to increase the employee life cycle within the Organization, how to overcome day to day obstacles we face in our professional lives, share some knowledge of latest labor regulations, amendments etc., any latest development in HR, how to create a good working environment/culture within the Organization. How to overcome growing politics in the Organization, how to smooth the communication between various departments etc.

Further, people may share their critical problems or mistakes and how they resolved it. We also may share good HR practices adopted by different Organizations. We may have a Questions and answers round (say 30 min.) of various HR related issues, where participants may raise questions and all attendees may answer those Questions.

Also, every participant should be given a certificate. (I know a printer who may print certificates free of cost).

That's just an idea, which struck in my mind, and I just shared it with all my new friends here.

Alas, I have attached a file having a wonderful article on HR Practices. This weekend, I spent more than three hours typing this article.

Warm regards,

Dear Umesh Sir... oops! Can't help it!

The idea of having HR seniors is the need of the hour, and the meeting could be made an experience-sharing event wherein all the HR gurus can share their thought processes and experiences to motivate the HR newbies. I hope we would continue these discussions in the July 29th meeting. And yes, the certificates would be an added gift! Thanks a lot for this. Kiran Ji can talk to you and take it forward. Dear Umesh,

Nice thoughts!! This is exactly what we wanted when we conducted these meetings last year. We aimed for people to meet and share their experiences, especially the seniors from the HR fraternity who not only have experience but have also faced criticisms and have their own success stories to share with the forum members.

The platform of Cite HR is not only for seniors but also for those who have just started their careers in HR and may get stuck when it comes to practically handling HR functions. Mr. Siddiqui from Maruti is a well-renowned name in HR. I met him at one of the college functions where he was invited as a speaker. His thoughts and leadership qualities have influenced many HR professionals.

I'm glad that people like you are associated with this forum, and undoubtedly, your presence will make it a more successful event.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

Hmm... BACK TO ROUTINE.... AWAY FROM SWEET HOME.... Anyways, part and parcel...

So, Anupama, take my confirmation... I would be there for the meet under any circumstances. Sorry for not being active... I was a bit busy with wind-up stuff at home and then back to the office after two long weeks... So, obviously, trying to get in touch all again...

Things are going pretty well... no doubt in that... Also, there are many new members joining hands. All good signs...

The most important thing in our next meet would be deciding on the agenda for our Aug 19 meet. I think it would be good if we can decide on some common issues that HR professionals face on a day-to-day basis at their workplace (I saw this happening in the Mumbai Meet). If we can decide on certain topics, that would be really great... WHAT SAY, GUYS??

So, now come chip in with the topics that you would like to discuss in our Aug 19 meet so that we can have a proper agenda for our meet...

Kiran.

Welcome back, Kiraan! Hope you got your goodies, huh? 😜 And yes, we can discuss some topics for sure. That would be great. An added advantage for sure. I really think people in the industry can give suggestions as I am very new. But definitely what comes to my mind is STRESS management. Everywhere I look around, I just hear and see STRESS!

Hello Everyone!

I was updating myself with all that has been happening here when I saw a post from Umesh [welcomeumesh, Lucknow].

For sure, it would be a nice idea to structure the time we would have - approx. 4 hours - so that we make the best utilization of the opportunity. I hope this will be one of the items on the agenda when the volunteers meet on 29th July.

On the 19th of August, we can have self-introduction by everyone present at the start, followed by a serious and focused interactive session on whatever topic(s) the team decides. Then, we can have networking and lunch - together.

In addition to the topics already mentioned by Umesh, I would suggest that we can touch upon/talk about:
- Employer Expectations
- Mistakes Employers Make In Hiring Employees
- Merging Corporate Objectives with Personal Goals, etc.

I am suggesting these topics because they can help the HR professionals gain insight into generally less talked about aspects of human resource management. We can also look at the emerging scenario in HR Information Systems. Another hot topic is - Skill-matrix for Various Positions in the Retail Sector.

Based on what transpires during the volunteers' meet on 29th, we can perhaps also decide on approaching some senior executives in the industrial/corporate world to request them to join us on 19th August.

In case we decide on inviting some senior professionals, we must do our homework well and present ourselves as a group of knowledgeable professionals. This can be done by making a couple of presentations compiled out of well-researched work, accompanied by case studies.

We must make sure that the group is talked about, and more senior executives get interested in our activities in the times to come.

No doubt, the meet on 19th Aug is an informal one, but the way I look at things, it gives us an opportunity to rehearse for the subsequent formal events. We can use it as a learning experience.

I hope to be able to make it to the volunteers' meet on 29th. In any case, I am very much here and around.

Keep Smiling, Always!

Dear All,

It's always a pleasure to read the other end of this thread. Actually, it's exciting, and at this phase of time, many innovative ideas are coming up. For instance, R. Dudeja just shared a lot of rocket ideas with us.

We may also discuss the latest technological growth in HR through ERPs like SAP, PeopleSoft, etc. People are hardly aware of SAP; almost every day, I receive at least one email asking for a brief on SAP. Therefore, it might be food for thought for such people. I feel on the 29th we need to have a brainstorming session where we may gather hundreds of ideas from all of you. What do you say?

Thanks, Geeti, for calling and the courtesy from your end. I am coming up with proof of some certificates which we may finalize during the informal meet. As already requested, please confirm the block in CP or any nearest landmark.

See you guys on July 29, 2007.

It's great to hear that temptation is increasing! I am really happy, although I am not able to contribute this time with full enthusiasm. I really miss all that.

Hey Guys, sorry to say but this time I will not be available in the meeting on the coming Sunday, the 29th, as I have to come back to my hometown since my mom is suffering from Malaria. So sorry, guys, I really miss all of you.

I know it's very late to say as only a few days are left, but it's an emergency, and I have no option except coming back. So guys, all I can do is wish for a successful meeting. But I will be in touch with all of you on how the meeting goes and what is decided.

Dear All,

I am so sorry for not being in the thread for the past few weeks as I was really busy at work, but I am happy to see many things happening on the thread. I hope the volunteers' list is now complete, and all interested volunteers have uploaded their names and contact numbers in the Excel sheet.

It's so exciting to meet all of you for the first time. Thanks, Kiran, for calling me and informing me about the latest happenings. But man, why are you not coming? Not done, yarrrrr :(

Well, I totally agree that we should discuss some topics which are already mentioned so that it can help each one of us. I would like to have some insights on the following topics:

1. Advantages and disadvantages of mentioning or not mentioning CTC in the offer letter.
2. Are there any legal issues to be taken care of if a person says no after signing the appointment letter?
3. If a person is coming late to the office on a daily basis and, after giving warnings, he/she continues the same but leaves the office on time, how should one overcome this problem?

So, two more days to go... 🙄 Well, I hope to meet you all on the 19th of August. I won't be able to participate on the 29th, but if there is anything or any activity that requires more people's effort, you can involve me in that 😉.

Hello,

Now I'll catch you all on Sunday 😄. Hope to see you all, and also those who still have question marks in front of their names. Last time we were around 18-19 people, this time only 10 excluding some. I hope this meeting will be successful and rocking too.

Hi,

Posting the format of Participant's Certificate (proposed). I'll be coming up with hard copies. (Somebody please take the soft copy). My color cartridge in my printer is absolutely over; therefore, I'll be carrying black and white copies only. Please see the format in the color picture.

Hi all,

Sorry, as I am not able to come on the 29th. But it's really good to see the new members on the volunteers' list. Our motto is to spread the news and attract more people to our offline meetings. What about the agenda? I think it will be decided tomorrow. Please don't forget me. Update the agenda and schedule for the informal meet on the 19th of August.

Hello HR gang,

Well Umesh, I am sorry to have missed your name from the list. But it was a pleasure meeting you.

Guys, kudos to all the beauty 😛 and brains of those who have struggled thus far to make both meetings successful events.

Honestly speaking, being a part of it has actually boosted my motivation all over again. I am sure that the upcoming meeting on 19th August is definitely going to be a rocking one.

A lot of responsibilities, guys... a lot of work to be done... but why worry when we have such a blasting and rocking team of intellectuals, right?

Now, onto something serious, guys:

The background work for the 19th August meeting has started, and very soon Geeti is going to upload the minutes of the meeting (the responsibilities assigned to each volunteer) on our new post.

We have decided to start a new post with the title "Delhi-CITE HR Conclave - 19th August." So, guys, please visit the new post to get all the latest updates on the upcoming meeting.

We would really appreciate it if you could invite all your HR friends to this meeting to make it a success beyond imagination. So, guys, start interacting with your old friends, your colleagues... call them, email them... make them realize that you have not forgotten them and what a true friend you are 😉... and let them know that by participating in such an event, they will add value to their learning.

And lastly, three cheers for the 29th July meeting...

Hip Hip Hurray! Hip Hip Hurray! Hip Hip Hurray!

Hi All CiteHR NCR esteemed Team members!

It's really nice to know that on 29th July '01, the NCR Volunteers meet was very successful. Keep it up everyone! :)

I am sure that in this meeting the roles and responsibilities would have been clearly defined, shared, and communicated well on time to all!

Though I eagerly wait for the updates of the meeting on the HR Conclave thread...

Let's hope to meet on 19th Aug '07 in the next formal meet, i.e., the HR Conclave!!!

Till then keep posting and sharing your views! :)

Wishing everyone all the best for the forthcoming CiteHR NCR event! :D

Waiting for the updates...

Regards,

Pankaj Kumar Sinha
