Dear HR Professionals,

My name is Jyoti, and I am an MBA graduate with specializations in HR and Marketing. I have approximately 3 years of experience in the field of HR and am currently employed as an HR Executive in a Webdesigning Company in Bangalore.

In my current role, I handle End-to-End Recruitment processes, including sourcing, scheduling, coordination with technical panels, induction, joining formalities, and conducting exit interviews. I also manage employee relations, employee engagement, and motivation initiatives.

While I excel in these areas, I admit that I am not well-versed in the Generalist role concerning HR policies, appraisals, and other related aspects. I am seeking guidance on what steps to take next, as I am keen on transitioning to a Generalist role. I am open to learning from scratch and willing to build a strong foundation in Generalist roles.

I am looking for opportunities for growth and development in HR and would appreciate any advice or assistance you can provide.

Please guide me.

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

Working in the IT sector, you cannot learn the complete role of HR. It's good if you look for a job in the manufacturing sector where you can play a general HR role. Also, you can learn everything there starting from entry to exit level of an employee, including employee engagement, performance management, HR policies, manpower planning, payroll processes, and statutory compliances, etc.

Initially, aim for small manufacturing sectors, try to learn everything, and then switch over to big MNCs. Since you have good experience in the IT industry, you can be a quick learner there.

ALL THE BEST
