Hi all,

I work in an IT company as an HR Executive and am tasked with initiating training programs within the organization. This is a new responsibility for me as I have never handled training before. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could assist me by providing the formats commonly used for training programs.

Thank you.

Hey Sapana,

It was great information indeed. Can anyone please tell me if, for behavioral/soft skills training, it is better to outsource the training, or can we as HR professionals create the content and conduct these ourselves??

Hi,

I have completed my summer internship in Training & Development at Century Pulp & Paper in Lalkuan, Nainital. During my time there, I prepared a Training Calendar. If you require my report, please email me at parikshitjoshi_mba@yahoo.com and use "Training Report" as the subject line.

Thank you.

Hi Parul,

Your in-house HR can also provide training on Behavioral/soft skills. However, it is essential for all of you to be confident, and the content should not be too lengthy. Ideally, you should incorporate some games related to the topic to make it more engaging and enjoyable for learning.

The effectiveness of in-house training largely depends on the number of trainees and their qualifications and designations. If your team and the trainers are confident, I believe you should proceed with providing training initially and consider outsourcing at times.

Additionally, make an effort to gather maximum feedback after each training session is completed.

Hi,

It's really great information you people are sharing. I want to introduce workplace ethics, behavioral, and soft skills in my organization. Would it be possible to implement a systematic approach in a construction and development company? Please let me know your views as it would be a great help.

Bye.

First, carry out the TNI program. Based on that, create your training calendar.

There can be many formats in which you can include: department, training required, dates and time, status, checklist, assessment, attendance, the training faculty/trainer, number of man-hours utilized for training, etc.

Try it out. If there are any problems, then get back to me. I will email the training calendar and format.

I will advise starting to use MS-Project. It has an inbuilt feature for developing a training calendar, and it also provides alerts automatically. This makes it easier for you to track without having to remember dates.
